The A380 wing strikes again....

Recommended Posts

LOOOOOOOL.Seriously though, why wasn't someone walking with the wingtip?
I'm not sure weather this would have avoided the crash. I mean, I as a glider pilot am always walking at the wingtip (though I do it becaue I'm controling the aircraft's direction from there) but I have already smashed the aircraft into the hangar once. If you can make it with an ASK21 you can also do it with an A380^^
It was being towed.Best regards,Robin.
Oh, thanks I didn't know that.

Greetings from the 737 flightdeck!

"While the crew had been informed that the taxiway was clear for the A380, said Airbus, and the aircraft was on the centreline, it hit a building belonging to Aeroports de Paris."Seems for once the fault lies with the controllers rather than the pilots. If you're given a route that is supposedly cleared for your aircraft it seems someone at LeB has some explaining to do...

I don't think that's necessarily the controller's fault. They are only working with the info that they have. If the survey says it's good enough for an A380, then they trust that it will be. It's not like the controllers go out and measure things themselves. I would be curious if that was the first 380 to go that way as well, cause that could make it more interesting if others had been through there before.

Yes but the final authority over the aircraft in this case would've been the ground crew towing the aircraft since they should've seen everything around them. Ground can give a clearance but it's only their responsibility to make sure you don't hit ground crew or other aircraft or cause some sort of incursion. Not hit a stationary object such as a very large building.
