I can understand why you might think the conversation is premature. I just was thinking about it because we have at least one addon, the NGX which will, in my opinion greatly increase the longevity of this sim so that when Flight does come out I believe a lot of simmers will be hesitant to switch over to Flight for the simple reason that they will not be able to fly their beloved 737. Add on the lack of important airports and scenery and weather addons then their is a real pull to stay with FSX. The immanent release of the NGX makes this conversation very timely, in my opinion.
