July 12, 201114 yr Yes, how sad of a world we live in where a heated debate could grow out of a game. I'm so glad I fought for my country for this. There will be those who love one and those who love the other. At some point you just have to stop and say....is it really worth it. Bantering on like 5 year olds about which transformer is better. Shall we not agree to disagree and realize that this argument is over a piece of software that has nothing to do with daily life. You might not be able to pay the bills...but you sure know a lot about FS. That's what's really important.
July 12, 201114 yr Since PMDG doesn't have a product to compare against the iFly 737NG, any comparison or attempt at comparison between the add-ons is pure fantasy. So the thread title is bit of a red herring. But that said, in terms of the race to get a credible B737NG to FSX, iFly has not only utterly cleaned PMDG's clock, they're about to lap them as well. PMDG's flurry of "we're in double-secret beta" chatter right around the iFly release was obvious marketing subterfuge, and pretty lame at that. There's only one concrete conclusion I can draw at this point, and that is that iFly has won the race to be first to market with a credible full-featured add-on hands-down, and many early adopters will be sufficiently satisfied with the iFly product that PMDG has lost hundreds or thousands of potential sales due to their tardiness. The arrogance of PMDG, plainly assuming that they were the only real players in the game, has cost them dearly. That makes Randazzo's earlier post to people unhappy with the slipping timeline, telling them they can send their complaints to an unmonitored e-mail address...well, kinda funny. I remain sure PMDG's 737NG will be a good one, even if it is only a -800 model in comparison to iFly's full-range of the entire NG/BBJ line. I suspect I might just be able to get my next Ivy Bridge machine and nVidia Kepler video card built and tuned up early next year in time for the PMDG release. July 12, 201114 yr Oh come on Bob. You know that isnt correct. These addons sell for YEARS after their release. You should hear what the beta testers are saying on our emails. The rest of the consumers will say the same thing.

July 12, 201114 yr Thought I'd give the iFly 737 a go.. Beautiful aircraft really. sadly, I'm going to have to request a refund.. Framerates are abysmal.. I went from a limited solid 20+ FPS with other commercial level add on aircraft at Albuquerque Intl. Sunport to never breaking above 10 FPS midair flying the iFly 737.. Bummer.. With the issues I'm having with Ariane, I thought I'd found the solution.. Thankfully Flight1 has an awesome return policy..Currently running an Asus J73 with a quad core Intel i7, 6 gigs ram and an ATi mobility HD5870 and Bojote's tweaked fsx.cfg-Damien Damien Furtman Hovering Hellion

I Am not quite sure what you are getting at about the beta tester and marketer thing.Oh and we both must be getting up up there if we still remember the Cordoba commercial!
July 12, 201114 yr Damien, I'd wait at least some days to test the thing on SP1. If that period is within your 30 days, it's worth a try. :smile:The SP seems to be pretty close.

I Am not quite sure what you are getting at about the beta tester and marketer thing.Oh and we both must be getting up up there if we still remember the Cordoba commercial!Don't forget that many parts of a tree are edible!! :( Not saying PMDG has been left behind. But they've lost a considerable number of sales by being beat to market. If they were being upstaged by some half-a** two-bit operation like Friendly Panels or Ariane, I wouldn't think a thing of it. But the iFly guys are serious contenders, and they have never told customers to "call someone who cares" like that infamously disrespectful post by Randazzo.Basically, what beta testers might be saying or not saying isn't the same as customers evaluating a product actually released to market. PMDG gets no credit for a product not released. All attempts to do that are nothing but marketing hype."Beta not. Release or release not. July 12, 201114 yr LOL on the Yoda. I hear what you are saying. "I will believe our company is getting 787's when it is parked on our ramp and in our colors!". That kinda of thing. But obviously being on the tech team I know a bit of whats happening so my POV is a bit different on release. But if you are the type of guy that likes realism in these sims you wouldn't be disappointed. This is the first addon that I was in awe from. And yes, I own just about everyone of them out there. But as for customer service I have never had a problem with any of the guys. They have always been great. I remember on a couple of occasions I helped put together some VATSIM flyins for CZVR and CZEG and we compiled about 1000-2000 bux in prizes in addons. Great flyins btw! It was my job to get the prizes and whenever I emailed Robert I got an immediate response and nothing but support and donations from him. Meanwhile I can recall emailing a couple of companies (for 3 weeks!!) and not even getting a simply response back from them. I don't mind if they even declined but no response? But thats another story. I know you have been on these forums for quite a while and see the gulfstream on you sig. We you flying the big guys around at the white house? How did you like the G's?
