Judge the product, not the people.
HelloIt was the "Fraud" bit that got me.I have a 737NG product (i-Fly) that I can actually fly and have an opinion about.Mikea76 does not have a 737 (PMDG) that he can fly, but he still has an opinion about which is best ?Who is the Fraud ?

HelloIt is this kind of attitude that pervades the PMDG forum from both the Dev's and the a really excited user that pretty much puts me off buying anything more from PMDG.What's with calling folk frauds, it is not needed.we are after all discussing a toy aeroplane here when all is said and done.Get some perspective on it, you PMDG fans are way too defensive about the NGX, just point out the advantages of the PMDG product and discuss it in a normal fashion without the name calling. Its what the i-Fly folks would do
I agree .. normally when the name calling starts .... thats the point when the "name caller" has run out of rational and civil arguments.... its true just about 100% of the time.
jack i would not even bother with talking too them. this product is clearly superior to the ifly ng.... these frauds will all buy it maybe not on release day but they will buy it when they see all the stuff it can do
Keep drinking the koolaid a really excited user, your attitude is pervasive throughout PMDG and another prime example of why they will never get another penny from me.

ok calling them frauds was probably a bit strong but i bet a lot of these people will buy the ngx once they see that it is a big difference over the other ngs. its just so annoying reading all the complaining about how long the ngx took and now this stuff about the comments on the ifly product. if you rather not fly a superior product for silly reasons then its that persons loss.. i am done with this...

They better close up shop now cause they'll be missing your pennies :rolleyes:Some people just want a more realistic product... you can't call us a really excited user for that.

Yes the NGX will speak for itself when released. And anyone that says that won't buy it, probably will. You just can't deny yourself such a work of art if you really do consider yourself a true flightsimmer.

Great job guys; there is nothing quite like comparing an model released from one manufacturer with the unreleased version from another manufacturer. This makes as much sense as comparing Microsoft Flight with Microsoft FSX.:(
Well said Mike!!

Stan

No matter how much I may not like or disagree with a company, I would never deny myself a great product in an attempt just to try and "teach" them a lesson so to speak, by not giving them a sale. Lifes to short not enjoy the best that is available if you can afford it. Besides the fact that trying to boycott a company and deny yourself a work of art will hurt you more that it will them since you'll be the one missing out. The only time boycotts work is when a majority do it, not just a handful of people.I dont care for the attitude ORBX displays, but I still buy their products to enjoy because there not worth missing out on.The only dev that I will never buy from is Ariane.

Jim, you are denying yourself the 'art' of Ariane's planes, but you chastize me for doing the same with PMDG? I'm not sure I follow that logic. Regardless, I have no need for PMDG's 'best of show', I am not 'boycotting' them, simply stating MY position. They aren't the only company I won't deal with, they just happen to be the one in this thread.

Yes for many of the reasons and problems that have been documented thru the years, I will never buy from Ariane. There's huge difference between PMDG and Ariane.I wasn't chastizing you for your decision btw.

LOL I was reading that and thinking how true it was, with one exception.. .. .. Then I got to the end of your post, guess I am not the only one who is of that opinion!!!There are a few DEV's whose attitude I don't like, I still look to see what they are up to and see what they are bringing to the table and I would consider buying from them. I would have to say I thought the "This is what a real 737NG looks like" thread / facebook posting by PMDG on the iFly's release showed little class, but I am still following what they are doing with interest, and I do like what I have seen. However I can only justify one 737, so I will be waiting until both are on the market before I choose which to go for. Any opinions expressed before both are on the market as to which is best are either completely pointless guesswork or propaganda, once they are both out then I am sure we will get some decent feedback from trusted users who actually have both rather than those who like to beat the drum for one or the other.G

Most people dont feel this way. All fortune 500 companies have a department that in part manages PR. All businessmen know that a good product, from a respected company .. leads to increased sales.Plus your logic about never buying a Ariane .. is a bit confusing.I guess the my 737NG software code is better than your 737NG software code argument will never end.

How do you know how most people feel? Are you most people? I thought I was most people? On Ariane, based off their track record would you take a chance? You cant even compare PMDG's track record to that of Ariane.Your right, this is starting to sound like an FSX vs. FS9 thread. At least it has remained fairly civil.

Right now, only PMDG devs, Tech Team and Wide Beta guys knows if it's a work of art, but I know many true flightsimmer (including all folks that are feeling sensible to PMDG evil) will consider at least "a look" into this NGX.Time will tell, and if I could bet...I think I'll not lose this one.PS.: Sorry, english is not my best.

Actually that's not entirely correct. The guys over at Angle of Attack (AOA) have their copy and this is what they said about it.http://www.flyaoamedia.com/pmdg-737-ngx-training/"Defining Moment in TimeThere are moments that define history. Without pausing and reflecting, it’ll be all too easy to let it pass right on by.One of those happened to us at Angle of Attack in the last 24 hours. We received the PMDG 737NGX Beta in our hangar yesterday and apart from all the excitement regarding the look, framerate, quality of the VC and feel of the aircraft we can’t help but notice that this really isn’t what strikes us as the most important factor. You see, every so often, someone in our tight-knit community of Flight Simulator does something spectacular and out of the ordinary. Usually we get a lot of great stuff consistently, but rarely do we see what are known as ‘Game Changers’.When we stepped onto the flightdeck of the PMDG 737NGX, hearing the engines wind down and the delivery pilots passing us by on the way out, we noticed something different in the air. It wasn’t the distinct smell of fresh paint, but rather an aura that this ‘one’ is not only something new and fresh, but it is also a work of art down to every last detail.Nothing about this cockpit screams, ‘Look at me, I’m fake!’. You’ve got fingerprints, dust, scratches, reflections and every bit of detail when zoomed in closely. As we went through the many controls, setup our company options in the FMS (a great new PMDG features), played with a bunch of switches and so on, we thought it was time for less fiddling and more flying!Setting up for takeoff, really only by memory at this point and not ‘by the book’, it was a dream to see the sleek and capable workhorse that is the 737 sitting there lined up in Anchorage, Alaska on a warm Summer day ready for its trip to Seattle."It goes on from there in the link. Take it for what its worth...
