Actually that's not entirely correct. The guys over at Angle of Attack (AOA) have their copy and this is what they said about it.
Oh yeah, I forgot AOA guys...and what they said makes me... :( PS.: Gostei do seu avatar! :(

"Defining Moment in TimeThere are moments that define history.
The hyperbole is getting ridiculous. And this is a commercial developer. Add it to the bloke over on the PMDG forums who said, and I roughly quote 'cos I can't find it, 'it's going to be one of the most significant moments in my life.' !!!! :( JFK, Martin Luther King, Diana, the release of the PMDG B737......Get a bloody grip. No doubt this aircraft is going to be an excellent flightsim product. Possibly one of the best yet. But it's not exactly up there with the birth of your first child, is it? :( Do you think in years from now some people are going to be saying, "I remember what I was doing when I heard the PMDG 737 was released..." Ian(in frivolous mood.. :()
Keep drinking the koolaid a really excited user, your attitude is pervasive throughout PMDG and another prime example of why they will never get another penny from me.
Yeah, and your attitude is very heart warming. Reading your comments gave me the warm fuzzies. Avsim forum has turned into a consumer watch forum. If I worried about attitudes of every company that I purchased a product from, I would not buy anything. To come on a general forum and say you would never buy from PMDG is folly, and quite frankly, who cares if you do or not. I will be, so that must make me a a really excited user. So be it.

That's too funny Ian, but you never know, some may. :(

How do you know how most people feel? Are you most people? I thought I was most people? On Ariane, based off their track record would you take a chance? You cant even compare PMDG's track record to that of Ariane.Your right, this is starting to sound like an FSX vs. FS9 thread. At least it has remained fairly civil.
I know that most people buy based on the product and the company ... this is from decades of market testing surveys

I think most people buy products that they want or are good products, but could often care less about the ethics or people who run the company.Just look at all the products that are produced overseas by people working in horrible conditions for next to no pay, but yet we buy those products, not because we dont have a choice, but because they are great products. Nike is a good example after seeing where and how some of the shoes are made.

However I can only justify one 737, so I will be waiting until both are on the market before I choose which to go for.
Same here.

Actually that's not entirely correct. The guys over at Angle of Attack (AOA) have their copy and this is what they said about it.http://www.flyaoamedia.com/pmdg-737-ngx-training/"Defining Moment in TimeThere are moments that define history. Without pausing and reflecting, it’ll be all too easy to let it pass right on by.One of those happened to us at Angle of Attack in the last 24 hours. We received the PMDG 737NGX Beta in our hangar yesterday and apart from all the excitement regarding the look, framerate, quality of the VC and feel of the aircraft we can’t help but notice that this really isn’t what strikes us as the most important factor. You see, every so often, someone in our tight-knit community of Flight Simulator does something spectacular and out of the ordinary. Usually we get a lot of great stuff consistently, but rarely do we see what are known as ‘Game Changers’.When we stepped onto the flightdeck of the PMDG 737NGX, hearing the engines wind down and the delivery pilots passing us by on the way out, we noticed something different in the air. It wasn’t the distinct smell of fresh paint, but rather an aura that this ‘one’ is not only something new and fresh, but it is also a work of art down to every last detail.Nothing about this cockpit screams, ‘Look at me, I’m fake!’. You’ve got fingerprints, dust, scratches, reflections and every bit of detail when zoomed in closely. As we went through the many controls, setup our company options in the FMS (a great new PMDG features), played with a bunch of switches and so on, we thought it was time for less fiddling and more flying!Setting up for takeoff, really only by memory at this point and not ‘by the book’, it was a dream to see the sleek and capable workhorse that is the 737 sitting there lined up in Anchorage, Alaska on a warm Summer day ready for its trip to Seattle."It goes on from there in the link. Take it for what its worth...
HelloThey are hardly going to say it was not that good are they.Hint... they want to sell you some training material.

What you say is true, if people cant see it, its not real to them. But let people "feel" it "see" it .. and their wallets will show their disapproval. A few examples, 21st Century insurance is AIG. The company changed the insurance divisions name after the financial meltdown and its very public role in it. And with BP, US sales at the pump fell dramatically during the gulf oil spill.Ford sales have taken off at the expense of GM and Chrysler. Consumers were mad at the fact the both GM and Chrysler took government bailout monies.

Barring the purple prose, it probably is an amazing bird - we'll see soon enough. Comparing it to the iFly (which I have and thoroughly enjoy) is like comparing apples and oranges; the planes are intended for very different markets. The iFly plane has an FS9 version - PMDG dropped their FS9 version on the grounds that the sim simply couldn't do what they wanted to do with the plane and I have no issue with that but it points up the difference in market. I say more power to both companies - they've both produced excellent products that will fill niches that have been empty for far too long. This has been an amazing discussion which has had very little to do with either plane; why not let them stand on their own merits?DJ

Ok now that I am at home and not in the middle of a work day I would like to clear up my fraud comment that ###### some people off. One of the first things I would like to make clear is I DO NOT WORK FOR PMDG, or for any developer. my opinions are not the opinions of them they are my own as a consumer. If you dislike me or my comments that should not be used as a reason to dislike anybody else other than me. What I meant by that fraud comment is a lot of these people that have been posting here and on other website on why they will not buy the NGX because of either the comments made about IFLY or the wait will most likely purchase the NGX at some point even if not on release day because they will see the you tube vids and hear of other talk about the plane and they will want to fly what is likely to be the best available plane for FSX. That is why I called those people frauds, if they in fact turn around and buy the product after months of trashing the developer for some slight real or perceived. Everybody has a right to purchase what they want too. I chose to own both, many of you will do the same and some of you will pick one or the other for whatever reason, but what I see happening is some people are trying to paint the IFLY as a equal product to the unreleased NGX and from what evidence we see now that does not appear to be the case, I own the IFLY plane bought it on release day even before they had a link on the website and I enjoy the IFLY plane it's a good product. With that said I think once the NGX is released it will be pretty clear why it took as long as it did. Just like any company I am sure PMDG has ticked off a few people who will never buy from them and that is fine and happens everyday, Sometimes you can't please everybody.

Not that it matters... 21st Century Insurance (way back when known as 20th Century Insurance) was an existing company bought by AIG in one of their spending sprees. When AIG was melting down they sold 21st to the Farmers Insurance Group. They get their money out of me every six months... :( We now return you to our previously scheduled quibbling about some pretend add on for a computer game, sponsored in part by REALLY SERIOUS SIMMERS, Inc.

If guys set up a thread about a comparison, there's nothing to worry about. If guys state that it's hard to compare existing and not existing products (end-user level, please), there's something true in it.If guys react on criticism in a personal and insulting way only, readers may decide how strong the argument force is on that side.If people look at more than the product (=the package) before buying, it compliments their awareness and autonomy as a buyer. As quite some people do that, you may guess why some companies don't run into discussions like this while others show up on a regular basis there.

AIG shifted all of its insurance customers to the 21st subsidiary after the financial melt down as a way of shielding that business from consumer backlash.

Boy I miss the days when I started out in Flight Sim downloading planes (all freeware) from AOL at 14.4 baud. Everybody helped everybody and contributed back then to make this hobby what it is today.I remember when a DC-9 was made with no textures or panel just a white DC-9 (first of its kind for FS) Flight Dynamics were horrible but it dawned a new day in FS.It seems today its this whole hobby has turned into a ******* contest and that's unfortunate.Oh well just my opinion. I own the Ifly and will buy the PMDG the day its released and will still fly them both because they both are wonderful products and deserve everybody's support. :)Sean
