When programing the FMC for the decent, does inputing data into the FORCAST page have any effect or is it just eye candy?Thomas

Hi ThomasI know that wind forecast have not effect, but if you program the transition level you have the alert on ND when you approaching it.Stefano

Inputting data on the forecast page absolutely is used in the decent profile calculations.Dave

Preflight I always put the transition level in the forecast page. See 8 - 46 FMC USER’S MANUAL for application. It states all informtion is used except CABIN RATE and TAI. (The manual pdf I have is the updated one for all models that came with the 800/900.) TAI (antiicing) was not effective in Boeing design at the time the FMC was modeled according the the PMDG note.If you have the 800/900 all updated procedures including the 600/700 are in the TNG folder under the PMDG folder and the Aircraft 800/900 folder under that.
