July 1, 201114 yr I was just wondering where (city/plant), Cessna manufactures their Citation/Mustang at. And where Cessna performs Citations test flight at, aka what airport? Thanks for the info
July 1, 201114 yr The Citation Mustang is built at the Cessna plant at Independence in Kansas, which is on the airport itself, that being KIDP. I'm pretty sure they use runway 35 most of the time, which is five and a half thousand feet long, so more than enough to get a Citation Mustang off the deck, since they need about three thousand feet of tarmac to get airborne. If you look on Google Earth you will see a crapload of Cessna props (172s 182s, 206s etc) lined up outside what is their factory, it being comprised of several buildings, and there are taxiways from there directly to the runway. All other Citations are built at Cessna in Wichita, but parts for many Cessnas are made in Mexico at a plant they have there (panels and electrics mostly). You can see a photo of the Cessna plant at Independence here if you scroll down a bit: http://www.airnav.com/airport/KIDPAlso note that on the remarks for pilots flying into that airport, it mentions that extensive flight testing is in progress on and around the place, so there's your answer.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
