Exactly what issues are there with the Radeon card?, I "jumped ship" from Nvidia a little while back and in my opinion the 9800 Pro is a superior card to the Nvidia card.Dan.

There are users with the exact specs you are getting that can't get it to run well and then there are users with specs half that to where it is running smooth as silk. Just get the best you can afford and enjoy. Well I have to say I am astonished at some of your responses.Some of you are either jealous of the choice I made or just have no life.Technically I can run circles around most of you guys.I am an EE engineer in semiconductors for the last 15 yrs.I will admit I posted a few post in this forum and the hardware fourm to get a kwoledge base of users who use Alienware or ABS and video card recommendations, did not know that was illegal.I had trouble with a 9800Pro on my current system and I was leery about getting the 256 on the system.Most of you guys respond with links that in general point to the ATI as top runner but their are some that contradict other sites.I was relying on my fellow simmers to help me out I was not #### just asking.So those of you that have an issue with my post F___ OFF.Clear enough .....Andy

Andy bad choice don't get that 9800 Pro or you won't be happy. BTW, when are you ordering?NoelBTW: just kidding! Sorry I couldn't help it!Seriously, if you can wait 3-4 months perhaps you can grap R420 based card from ATI, or NV's next gen part. I'm happy with this 9700 for now, but will prob upgrade to R420 in the late Spring. Good luck with your new rig. Mine's a year old now and still going strong.Noel

I was going to upgrade my video card in January, but now Im hearing that the next gen from ATI and Nvidia will make their current flagship chips obsolete. Hell, I dont know what to think. If I wait for these new chips maybe there will be new news on the horizon and it will be a vicious circle resulting in me flying FS2004 with a Ti4200 for the rest of my life. LOL.Craig

AndySad to say, there is this thing called Netiqutte.If you ask the same question in two different forums on the web then you are likely to get "flamed" for it. "Flaming" is the equivalent of being abused and is 100 percent unacceptable. The question is, though, would these same people have the courage to behave like this if they were in a room face to face with you and a few other people? I doubt it. Consider ....X invites a few friends round to his house for an evening of flight simulation. He asks a couple of them a question about the ABC123 video card. Suddenly, one of them says "You asked the same question of someone else yesterday - how dare you" then punches him hard in the face, knocking him to the ground in the process.This is what happens in forums. The only difference is that in a forum you don't have to come physically face to face with anyone - that would take real courage.I hope you get your card question sorted out OK. I have an NVidia FX5600 which some people on the web have told me is crap. Just goes to show you how much they really know :-lolDavid
