the Katana is pure awsome. Its perfect for low and slow Orbx (and other scenery) flying.

Not Trying to argue with that statement, as I said, I'm still thinking about buying it.However, that was not at all what my statement was about. :(

But anyway, let's stop this discussion befor this thread gets looked because it goes too far offtopic (which it actually is already^^)
It's an absoulte OT of this forum anyway, so what's the big deal. In general, this whole thread is pointless. All FSX add-ons are only virtual anyway (data only), so what's the big deal with retiring? Are you all running out of disk space or what?

The main point that I was making is that, from what I've seen in the AoA videos, the NGX is going to jack up our expectations for accurate and complex simming so much that it is going to be very hard for me to accept a sim that has a lot of "dummy" switches, non-working systems, excessive bugs, crash when entering data into the FMS, and I can go on.This is a fact of life. Once you have a simulation, like the NGX, with all of the systems simulated, perfectly working VNAV and LNAV that duplicates the real 737, why in the world would you go back to one that doesn't have these features?I'm not saying that I'm getting rid of everything, but this will raise my standard so much that it is going to be hard to tolerate hearing a developer say "FSX has limited me from making that system" or "I don't want to make it too complex, or new simmers will not be able to fly it"If a sim doesn't have a certain level of accuracy and stability, I won't want it on my computer.I don't want to mention a list of developers on this forum, because this is not the place for that,:( but I have already uninstalled a large bunch of aircraft from developers that have airplanes that I have not been flying much and I know I will never again be satisfied with after flying this PMDG masterpiece.

well i guess you don't have the concorde x cause this is one i will fly even when the ngx hits the market, and the 7478i will never be out of service well not on this system. oh and the concorde x is a masterpeice.james wyatt

My fleet will beJS41 - where the big ones cant land737- for obvious reasons747-For the long one767- Still a nice bird to flyMD11- Freight and some pax routes (not many though)Future fleetDash 8 - Either PMDG or the other one777-PMDG but not for a while yet!!

Yeah to be honest i'm feeling the same. I brought the Ifly 737 a few months ago, but only recently im feeling did i just buy that to tie me over till NGX ????

Part of my problem is that there are so many good aircraft for FSX that I find myself jumping from plane to plane and not becoming really proficient at any of them. Oh yeah, I can start it from cold\dark and program the FMC, but I know I don't always do things by the book. I just jumped in the Katana, and although I was able to start it and get it airborn, I don't really know all of the proper procedures. I guess it's a matter of flying or sightseeing.

Do you know this bird?
Well from the screenshots and videos and such. You're probably right but I kinda jumped on your statement haha, so never mind. Big%20Grin.gif
It's a shame the systems aren't modeled in more detail on that A320. That's a fantastic model, but it's worthless if the systems aren't fully operational.
True, but then again it's simply not aimed at the system simulator enthusiasts but rather those who simply want to go up and away. This way it probably didn't take as long to create, it's just a different league. But yeah, a true HQ bus would be due. Then at least we had a HQ Boeing and a HQ Bus. Should satisfy a lotta people. Oh well but I digress, just dreaming. :(sig.gif

Don't feel like the "Lone Ranger" Mike. I believe a lot of us are guilty of that. wink.gifI believe I won't be just buying a simulation because it looks good or is complex. I'm going to have to start taking into consideration that I can only properly learn a limited number of complex aircraft and do so much manual reading. I will have to pick which ones I want to learn and limit my purchases to just those. The NGX is going to require a lot of time to learn properly. Not that you can't jump in and fly it, but if you want to know it like a professional (which, unlike most sims, will be possible with the NGX), it will be an ongoing learning experience. There will be a lot of good aircraft released, but I will have to be very selective and be sure that, if I'm going to buy one, it's one that I really want to learn or it will just sit on my harddrive and eventually in the boneyard.

The NGX will be simply awesome when used along with FS2Crew voice, to me this will just add to the immersion and will render my iFly useless even though i love the iFly.

I certainly hope Bryan York is working on Voice Command for the NGX. This aircraft will be really perfect to fly with an FO.
