December 19, 200322 yr Payware or Freeware - complete package 2D and VC panels - what are your favorites? I've been flying Mike stones B1900 and like it, but I want something more technical. The Frolov's Dash8 is good (well FANTASTIC), but I'd like something a bit more cozy. What I'm really looking for is a Beech 1900 or a Saab... Any tips? Thanks!sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
December 19, 200322 yr Hi,Well the only other complete technical package I can think of is the AFG YS-11, its a marvelous package, altough its a little bit of a niche plane, but I love it, has a great 2D and VC panel, plus the need to fly it properly otherwise the engines quit, which I think I am right in saying is still a unique feature in FS, plus its free.Other than that, the Eurowings ATR is good, no VC though, but has an FMC but its payware, I also love the Metroliner from Jon Murchison. The PSS dash 8, is/was a good plane, but so far I can't run it in FS2004, but I liked it in 2002.I also like the CV240, CV340 and CV580 from calclassics, they are more of a vintage plane, but great fun to fly.If you want a real challange then the AN-24 from Samdim will keep you busy for a while, its all in russian ;), but has a great 2D and VC.I also have a bit of a soft spot for the Islander and Trislander, Marcel Kuhnt has done a great one at www.m-r-software.de .The LAGO Twotter is another good one, but is payware, but there is a freeware twotter which is nice by Eric Dantes. Also the Dreamwings Fokker married to Espen Oijordsbakken's great panel is good. And another ;) LOL, the GMAX Jetstream by Jorge S
December 19, 200322 yr It lacks a VC, but Nick Botamer's EMB-120 married to Bill G's panel may be one of the best combos out there.... Visit www.project-erj.com-John
December 19, 200322 yr Author Saab 340? Saab 2K?There are some panels floating around for the S340B.Mike's 1900 I beleive uses the default King Air (FS2K2) but I reworked a copy of it using FS Panel Studio. The SF340B from FFG can fly nicely in FS9 but look for the alternate panels.I am currently reworking the 1900 panel adding some gauges from Reality-XP. It is my "group charter" aircraft for small group targets such as local sports, etc.I emulate NWA Airlink Mesaba feeders out of KMSP and region using the SF340B and the RJ85 (also from Mike) with Mathias Lieberecht's great RJ panel (www.baepanelproject.com).FS340Bs are available from FS Painter, FFG (Freeware Flight Group), and I believe John Murchinson (sp?).The Saab 2K, I found on a virtual airline.
