July 26, 201114 yr Author Fs2crew and the NGX. Just those 2 addons in the same sentence makes me giddy. July 27, 201114 yr Author price is announced on the PMDG forum!a very reasonable $69.99(Base pack with 800/900 series) for such a complex and beautiful aircraft!. 600 and 700s coming 4+ weeks later for $24.99. I like this idea as those that are waitning for the 600 and 700s can practice with the 800/900. July 28, 201114 yr I know this may be too early to ask, but I wanted to know if the PMDG NGX edition is going to be pretty much the same as the iFLY edition, or will it offer more functionality?Being that the PMDG version will no doubt simulate more systems, can we expect the FS2crew for it to offer some more bells and whistles? I own the ifly button version, but I'm afraid the iFLY is going to my virtual boneyard once the NGX is in my hands! A.J. Domingo
July 28, 201114 yr Author My ifly is heading for retirement too hehe. Dont get me wrong they have a great product and their support is one of the best ive seen in flightsims, but thier aircraft is just too far behind, it makes me sad cause its got alot of potential, unfortuanatly its about to be totaly outclassed by the NGX. However they still have thier FS9 version that PMDG can never touch, its better then the old PMDG737 from back in the day. So if you still have FS9 and want the best 737 go Ifly. If you have FSX go PMDG Andrew Simmons Intel i7 950+Corsair H70. 6 Gig ram Kingston Hyperx 1600Mhz ASUS GTX560 Ti (900mhz core/1800Shader/2100Memory) 1T Cavier Black HD + 1T Cavier Green for backup jobs. July 28, 201114 yr Yep, its quite a nice product. No fair comparing it to the PMDG, as they are two different approaches to different markets. If anything, I wish iFLY had released it a long time ago, to fill that long void since FSX was released with no NG (and Ariane doesn't count), they did quite well with the depth of systems and the visual details given it was their first payware offering, and the price was perfect. I even bought FS2crew for it, knowing full well that I'd have limited time with it, but I got what I wanted out of it, which is plenty of practice for the NGX. Apart from reading the PMDG manual on learning how the simulation part operates and setting up the product, I will have no need to study the tutorial....it will go straight into "revenue" service for me! In terms of adding new features to it, there's not really much more we can add other than failures. We've covered pretty well every normal everyday procedure you can have in a 737NG, even some of the rarer stuff like 'bleeds off takeoffs (unpressurized) with the APU inop). The iFly however doesn't model failures, but the NGX apparently does I may be making special versions of FS2Crew for the NGX in the future for people who want failures, and type rating style training. Cheers, That would be sweeeet!. Seeing how the aircraft is so complex and popular (both real world and in the sim) would be the icing on the cake to have FS2Crew support failures. Even just engine out/enginefire that sort of thing, not worrying too much about the deeper failures that might happen.
