Where to fly? And what add-on scenery to get?

Featured Replies

Hello! :DBeing a resident of the Netherlands, I of course have started my Flight Sim playing around the Netherlands scenery in FS9. But as some of you will know, it is rather Empty, flat, sparse and overall boring. So I am looking for an interesting place to fly. There are many places that might be promising, but I want to make the most of it, so I am perhaps not satisfied with the FS9 defualt scenery. Personally I think I might start by getting all that addon scenery for England by Flight1, and start to explore that.. but I have not found a good mesh yet for England yet, and I would very much like to make it look as good as I can when I fly, so I would also use a mesh.I was wondering what advice and experiance you people have with add-on scenery, textures and meshes, and where you like to fly best. What would you recommend, and besides known publishers, what are places I might find very good addon scenery and meshes?Thank you.Greets,J

There's lots of good mesh here http://portal.fsgenesis.net/ plus landclass for all of the USA. Search AVSIM library for Pietro Mauri's free SRTM mesh for various parts of Europe. Get outstanding free landclass scenery by Ian Thatcher for all of Australia, New Zealand, and most of Asia here http://tassim.com/. John

Much depends on how LONG you like to fly. I do personally like to fly about an hour to 1.5 hours generally, which puts me mostly into regional jets up to B737 etc as well as GA aircraft. Some favs of mine...TNCM-TJSJKMIA-KHOUMMMX-KSANKTPA-KFLLKATL-KBHMKATL-KFLLKSEA-KPDXPHNL-PHOGPANC-PAJNCYBD-CYVR (excellent bush flight)VHHH-WSSSKLGA-KIADKEWR-KATLKORD-KCLEKMSP-KORDEHAM-EGLLEDDF-EHAMEGLL-LFPOEGLL-LIMCLIMC-LGAVMain thing is just pic a world area and time of flight and aircraft...then enjoy. I ought to probably take my own advice cause there are some regions I have NEVER flown. Like Africa...and rarely in the Middle East. Just too much to explore in places I have been!!
