Frame Rates compared to the -400X?

Recommended Posts

I m going to purchase the NGX this weekend, and I was just wondering if someone that also owns the 747-400X could comment on how the frame rates compare between the two products? Just trying o figure out what to expect. With the -400X I get about 25-60 frames per second depending on the airport, and 10 frames at worst, so I would be delighted if the 737NGX performed even better!

Just completed a flight from East Midlands to Glasgow, REX2 Overdrive, RC4 etc, frames are definitely better than the nearest competitor (ahem) and no mouse issues for me either. Early days yet I expect but so far extremely pleased. I have 30fps capped with an external limiter, ultra high settings for the most part, but no significant airport add-ons. Edit: Whoops! Yes, on my system waaay smoother than the 747-400.

Slower in general.Comparison to 747-400X:747-400X:2D: 40 VC: 32NGX:2D: 36 VC: 27 Apples to apples. And yes, there is a mouse issue, the very much same as in the competitor. Last test shown: full screen, cursor shown 23fps, cursor hidden 27fps. That's about the same difference as in the competitor. Around 20% loss.

Generally better I'd say. Exterior much smoother, 2D a LOT nicer, VC is great if you don't move the view too much, if you're moving about expect to have it break up a little.

Just done a few touch and goes at KBFI fresh out the paint shop and I must say I'm extremely impressed with this thing ... The frames are better than the 747x ... Well they are on my system which is coming on 4 yrs old. This addon is a must for the serious sim nut !

I made the mistake of buying this addon using 32-bit. 5-8 fps on fairly low settings in the middle of nowhere (Southern Illinois) at FL330. ----->DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE AN OLDISH SYSTEM USING 32-BIT<----------
