Strange Noise after Shutdown

Recommended Posts

First let me say, the PMDG 737 is a fantastic product, everything is modelled accurately to its entirety. However, a small issue I have persists... After a complete shutdown, packs, APU and Ground Gen are disconnected, I have a loud noise, I have no idea what it is or how to stop it. I have made a short video... [sorry for the crap frames, low-end (ish) system]

Many Thanks Craig Phillips

Almost sounds like your engines are at high rev's. have you tried to press Q a few times

press 'q' twice to mute and then unmute the sound ...I think this happens when you switch to outside view and then back to cockpit view

I shall give it a go when I next do a flight, thanks ;). No sound card, just onboard sound, but the drivers are up-to-date. And thanks for the super fast response!

I am under the impression it is the typical FSX fault, not a 737 one. I could write a book about FSX ghosts.....and ghosts sounds... Once it happened to me to hear the landing gear sound ( on another addon not PMDG ) when in the main screen of FSX where you decide which plane to pick......

What sound card you got? & have you got it up to date with drivers etc..
Nothing to do with it at all. This is the nature of such a complex aircraft/sounds in the FSX environment. Sometimes these things happen. As suggested earlier, pressing Q twice will fix it. And guess what? That's covered in the introduction manual!!! Doh.gif

Hi Craig, Indeed it is the dam FSX sound bug changing views - pressing "Q" twice after changing the view fixes it. We are currently working on a permanent fix to this issue via FSUIPC - stay tuned !!!
