Airlines using Honeywell vs Collins MCP

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, Just wondering.... for the sake of realism... do you have a list of the different airlines using the different MCP's. I've know recent US airlines to make the change including AAL but I just wanted to be accurate. Thanks in advance!! FDX706

I believe somewhere in the production run Boeing made the change but I can 't be sure. Our first 77 planes came with the Honeywell and were delivered through 2002. The next batch that started arriving in 2009 I think it was all have the Collins. Though just the other day I flew a newer plane that had the Honeywell in it so I guess they just put in what ever they have on hand when it needs to be replaced. I've seen that with the exterior light panel on the FOs side too. The old planes came with logo lights that were later deactivated but still have the switch. The new planes never had the logo light switch.

Interesting, newer planes didn't come with an activated logo light. Was the logo light activation handled automatically by the plane?

No, since the company decided they didn't want logo lights they just never installed the switch.
