HUD projections falls behind the glareshield

Recommended Posts

The bottom part of the HUD, mainly the VOR rose or the deviation indicator falls behind the glare shield, but only when the Landing lights are on. When the landing lights are off, the issue is not there and the HUD system works as advertised, but when the landing lights are on, the issue presents itself. I took some pictures (I think), of it, but I am in the midst of a flight, I will post them when I land to help illustrate what I am talking about, and see if anyone else sees this issue.

Cras,I'm on my iPhone so I'm a bit slow...but it looks like we posted the same issue at almost the exact same time. And I think I read someone else havingthe same issue earlier, so were not alone. It's funny how we posted at almost the exact same time!Adam

I thought they had talked about this during development and said they mitigated it as much as they could.

Its not the biggest issue, since by the time the landing lights are on, I find myself more interested with the information above rather than needing that information, but I thought I should at least bring it up. Now that I figured out the issue (and so did a few others it seems!), if I need that information I will just kill the landing lights.

PMDG is already aware of this issue. It came up during the development. They tried everything to solve this, but it's a limitation within FSX because of way the HUD and/or landing lights are modelled or something to do with it. Don't remember exactly. It's not a big issue, actually I had even forgoten about this and didn't notice it when taking off or landing. It can bother some of you, but nothing can be done about it. At least not yet.
