The Hype was Great, but the NGX is Better

Featured Replies

There was so much hype building for the NGX and, I think, everyone was really excited in anticipation, but deep within their heart was expecting a little let down when the actual release was flying on their computer. We knew that no one could make a sim that would duplicate the real Boeing 737NG.Rarely, in life is the product equal to the hype and even rarer, is it better. You see the hamburger in the picture at Mickey Ds and you know for certain, that the one you get won't look like that. PMDG has blown away all of the flight sim community by handing over to us, an aircraft simulation that is WAY better than the hype that preceded the release. It is predictable and it is beautiful, and will fly by the book. So we can study the real manuals to learn how to fly the PMDG 737NGX. I never realized how well I can land with a 737NG that flys like the real one. Using this outstanding HUD, I can get a gentle centerline landing, over and over again. I could never do that with other versions. This NGX will make us all much better desktop pilots. It's exciting, and I look forward to the AoA program on it. Thank you PMDG. Bob

Hello Allen,You will not be disappointed. My advise is, if it is possible, make sure your FSX is installed in the main "C" folder if you are running Vista or W7. I couldn't believe that it would make that much difference in performance, but I uninstalled mine from Program Files(86) and put it in the main folder so it is now in C:\Microsoft Flightsimulator X and, so far, the difference is awesome. Also go to ******* Bojote's Tweaks and get your FSX.CFG from there, then set your frame rates all the way up in FSX and use FPS Limiter that you can download from Bojote's website. Then, just read the PMDG introduction manual and do all your other settings the way they show.Warning: Once you have the NGX, it will be very hard for you to fly anything else.I will load the PMDG MD11, J41, 744, and a handful of other "top-of-the-line" sims from different developers on my FSX, but I don't know when I'll be getting back on them. I LOVE this NGX! Bob

I agree, I am making the best landings I have ever made in FSX in an airliner like I am making using the HGS. It's really a great tool.Sean Campbell

Even better, get an additional hard drive just for FSX. They're now one of the cheapest components in your PC after all :)

I keep doing these kind of landings, I might just become a commercial airline pilot! (well, maybe a virtual one).
