ADF needles float

Flying the tutorial one from EGKK to Eham I checked the NDB's along the way however to my suprise the ADF needlle floats at least 30 degree to each site of the course towards the NDB. Closed FSX after these first flight with the 737NGX and did a check from EHAM to EHRD as there are some NDB's around EHRD. The same happened with STAT, ROT and NV NDB. This is NOT the case with other aircrafts. The ADF needle is moving like a screen wiper around the course of the NDB. It seems a random movement but deflection is not larger the 30 degrees and most of the time smaller with a period time of one to two seconds depending on swing of needle. Does this sound familiar to anybody and is there a solution for this behavior?

No need for a solution because there is nothing wrongIn fact i was quite amazed because is the first plane that i know off that simulate this.

First sim to actually mirror NDB behaviour - you're lucky to get within 5' at the very best of conditions, at worst they are totally useless in odd conditions.John Ellison

I'm sorry, I experience the same, but TBH this behavior seems quite strong to me. I am certainly aware of the several errors NDBs suffer from by their very own nature, but these wild oscillations rendered it pretty much useless every single time, and this is certainly NOT what I see in real life, and I recall quite a number of NDB approaches I've been piloting (not on NGs though, but I doubt ADFs differ that much). I totally agree you'll be lucky to get a ±5 degree accuracy, but had I ever had such an indication on a real approach, I would neither have hit the runway nor any other part inside the airport perimeter. I will make sure to recheck the issue before I comment further but these fluctuations seem quite extraordinary and wild, to say the least. I appreciate the in-depth modelling behind, but this is just my $.02 here. sig.gif

It could be toned down a bit, you woudnt see that much hunting unless there were TX's around.

I´m sorry Friends, this extreme variation is not real life, absolutely unapplicabe for intercept reference or to fly a QDR, QDM...,in Real life (i´m a Reallife Flight Instructor PPL/IFR) we have sometime variations like , Coastal Effect, Mountanios Effect or extremly in the near of Thunderstorms ( CB´s), but under normal circumstances we have not variations of +/- 30-40°, this ADF needle behavier is not correct, and a functionally automatic direction finder is one of the minimum equipment for IFR flying, greetings. Yeah, I agree, not realistic at all. I've flown plenty of non precision approaches jn real life and would have been a statistic by now if this was the case.FRED

Seen plenty of real cockpit vids showing the needle fluctuating a bit but this is very extreme and seems to never stop 40 degrees each way, it's hardly worth turning the thing on! I also noticed when you pause the sim during engine start, the N2 continues to rise??? Bug or and FSX bug?
