PMDG_737NGX.DLL crashes

Recommended Posts

[rant] Why is it when I try to search for issues relating to one of the NGX dll's crashing FSX all I get back is two thousand links on torrent sites for thieving little freetards. It's particularly annoying when the one post that relates to your problem is an AVSim postand doesn't have any answers.[/rant] Anyhoooo..... Is anyone else getting these kind of FSX crashes Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61637.0, time stamp: 0x46fadb14Faulting module name: PMDG_737NGX.DLL, version: 1.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4e3afb98Exception code: 0xc0000005Fault offset: 0x001549adFaulting process id: 0x1468Faulting application start time: 0x01cc578bf0c0433bFaulting application path: D:\Games\Flight Simulator X\fsx.exeFaulting module path: D:\Games\Flight Simulator X\GAUGES\PMDG_737NGX.DLLReport Id: 5717dbf5-c37f-11e0-aa13-1c6f65c80e5b I know some of them are related to loading saves in descent & approach modes, which is known. But I have also had them just when starting FSX after having the 738 (BA virtual livery) as my default startup aircraft. I have also had it when I selected the 738 RyanAir livery. I don't know if they are just random or related to a particular bug. The windows error report I receive for the crash is Fault bucket , type 0Event Name: APPCRASHResponse: Not availableCab Id: 0 Problem signature:P1: fsx.exeP2: 10.0.61637.0P3: 46fadb14P4: PMDG_737NGX.DLLP5: 1.0.0.0P6: 4e3afb98P7: c0000005P8: 001549adP9:P10: Attached files:C:\Users\Trevor\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\fsx.CFG.txtC:\Users\Trevor\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\dxdiag.txtC:\Users\Trevor\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\scenery.cfgC:\Users\Trevor\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\fdr.datC:\Users\Trevor\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\dll.xml Any ideas?

I am getting this same error when I first select the aircraft from the menu. Any thoughts on why? I am getting it directly fro the Free Flight screen when I change aircraft. I have deleted my fsx.cfg file and still the same message. I get the same message for the 800, 800WL, 900, 900WL - which makes sense as all the panel.cfg alias back to PMDG 737-800NGX\panel. Same problem If I load the NGX after I have selected another aircraft, say the 172 and am parked. It all started when I uninstalled Nvidia 280.26 and did a clean install of 270.61. Unfortunately, I think I am headed down the dreaded FSX re-install path and I really don't want to go there between GEX, REX, UT2, FSGenesis, 747,767,737's A320's, ERJ's, CRJ's it would be the better part of a day dumping then reinstalling.I am open to ideas if anyone has any. I also get it at the Free flight screen when choosing any of the PMDG 737NGX 95% of the time.

Make sure your Flight Yoke/Quadrant/Rudder is setup and in neutral positions.  Test with controllers disconnected.  If that solves the problem then add each element one by one and test again.

As an example, I have a Saitek Pro Flight Yoke, Rudder, and additional Quadrant.  I have one lever on the quadrant set as Flaps.  If I don't position this at flaps up before loading the 737, I get the crash.

Stangely, I know these devices are prone to send extranious data when not in use, since pressing Y to slew results in a high speed chase around the countryside, mainly from rudder pedal signals it seems, but that doesn't kill the 737 load.
