Sorry. I don't get any error messages and it happened 15 min into flight. It just disappears like it was never running. I have a Dell xps 17 i2 nvidia 550. Frame rates is incredible at 100 on both fs9 and fsx. Just kind of odd it happened. John

Just once? Or does it happen from time to time? How's the temperature in your room? The computer may be overheating. Clean the fan vents, and if it keeps happening try running with the side panel off the computer, assuming it's got side panels.

I used to have this problem a while back. It turned out that I had to reinstall my scenery/world/ textures folder from the FS9 CD. One of the texture files got corroupted or missing using GEpro while switching yhem back and forth. Now I always kept a copy of the default scernery\world\texture folder just in case.

I will try these. When I reinstall the scenery files, do just copy from cd or do I just do a repair? John
Unzip the scenery/world/texture from FS9 CD to any folder you create. Then copy and paste the texture files to world/texture

Bill hit it spot on... I find this will happen when I shut down FS mid flight for some reason. I always have a backup of my "default" texture folders once I get all my add-ons installed so I can copy them over anytime this happens.I do my scenery/world/texture and just the root texture files as well...Great catch Bill!-Paul

For me this was a type of OOM error. If your running Windows 7 64Bit the fix for this is making sure the FS9.exe file is 'Large Address Aware'.

In my experience, the only time FS closes without warning is a clash with other software. Only advice I can offer is to shut down as many background programmes as you can. It might even be your anti-virus software suddenly deciding to undertake some activity if your keyboard has been idle for a while. I do not advocate shutting that down, but there may be ways of reducing its enthusiasm for "background tasks". John
