SSD or Sata III Mech Drive ?

Featured Replies

I am thinking about 1 120 G SSD for FSX and would like to squeeze UT2, UTX, GEX and REX onto it, then have 1 WD Caviar 7200 RPM for the OS. Hopefully they will all fit!!

Exactly. I'm getting a Corsair Force 3 120GB SSD in my new system. I'll get FSX, OS and all of my GEX (Eu & USA), REX & UTX (Eu, Can, USA).
NGX, I have read that FSX runs better when on its own drive or in its own folder as opposed to the default installation location.

Robert, Put UTX and GEX on your non-SSD drive. Once installed, configured, and textures sent to FSX, they don't run again unless you wish to change options/textures.

Hi Jim, That's good to know, they most likely have the largest footprint of any addon's I have. Thanks for the info. I will have a good look at all my installations before I make my final decision; and I will probably be posting when I reinstall ASE on the client (which is now the server) PC as I have ASX, ASE, SP's etc.

Yeah. Instead of C:/program files..... Just C:/FSX
