Program Pin Error (fixed post hot-fix)

Recommended Posts

update. its not because of corrupt coding in the downloaded SIDS/STARS. tested at other airports. it always happens when i select a SID or STAR, choose a runway, and then instead of hitting execute, i hit legs, and click on STEP, to see where the route is taking me. when i go back to the DEP/ARR page after pressing erase, i get the program pin error. so logically the next test should be, that i hit execute after selecting a SID or STAR, check the LEGS, if unsatisfied, change the SID/STAR. will update

Huh, any update here?

Just got the PROGRAM PIN ERROR in the FMC.

Do I need to purchase an actual AIRAC in order to fix this issue?

Ok, just bought AIRAC 1310, but will this fix the issue to load CYYZ's RWY15L for my flight WJA1212 to KLGA?

...

But to no avail. What's going on?

After flying some ACA 77L legs my aim was to fly CYYZ-WJA1212-KLGA-WJA1217-CYYZ with 736.

And now, even after loading the latest AIRAC I get this:

2013-10-3_22-41-3-623.png

I just wanted to load 15L and BULGE2, but my plans for tonight's flight are gone... 8^(

Hi folks,

no ideas?

- New AIRAC ... no effect.

- Started from NGX Cold&Dark ... no effect.

- Else? Has my license been expired?

- A virus?

Please help!

And thanx in advance.

Some more hints?

- The problem starts (as indicated in the old part of the thread) on the DEP/ARR page, DEP, choosing a RWY for departure.

- This is not possible. Instead FMC REQ and PROGRAM PIN ERROR shows up.

- On the LEGS page it is impossible to set SID waypoints manually prior to the RTE waypoints.

- On the RTE page it is impossible to set the RWY directly.

- The TAKEOFF REF page also does not accept the RWY.

- Without RWY V1, VR, V2 have to be set manually... (I want to fly now!)

Passing RKA on the HAARP STAR I can neither insert the ILS22... nor manually YOMAN as IF for ILS22....    8^(

Ok, gives me some experience in a less automated flight, but in bad weather as is in CYYZ right now, I'd appreciate a little bit more help from the FMS...

Hmm, sitting on KLGA's gate C20 preparing my flight WJA1217 back to CYYZ, I found the same behaviour.

But is the reason my stored route back KLGA SID GAYEL J95 BUF V36 LINNG STAR CYYZ?

I simply reprogrammed the route manually and could insert RWY22, SID and STAR!

Well, are my stored routes corrupted?

I stored the route without RWY, SID and STAR, but again to no avail; still the same behaviour.

So, again manual programming of the route, because here I could add RWY, SID and STAR.

But now I could only add RWY and SID, but not the STAR to an assumed RWY05 at CYYZ.

Using the pre-programmed routes is convenient, but I could skip this, but still this is *not* the route cause...

Continue to investigate...

I am airborne again: WJA1217 via SID JUTE to GAYEL J95 BUF V36 LINNG.

Now flying I could add the STAR for the assume RWY 05.

Nevertheless we are said that we shall add STAR and landing RWY, else we cannot calculate the fuel for an alternate.

The situation remains unsatisfactorily...

Something has changed to screw up the SID and/or STAR insertion, but what?

Still waiting for some advice...

Hello PMDG,

does any official advice exist on this FMC message PROGRAM PIN ERROR

Again the fault report:

- The problem starts (as indicated in the old part of the thread) on the DEP/ARR page, DEP, choosing a RWY for departure.

- This is not possible. Instead FMC REQ and PROGRAM PIN ERROR shows up.

- On the LEGS page it is impossible to set SID waypoints manually prior to the RTE waypoints.

- On the RTE page it is impossible to set the RWY directly.

- The TAKEOFF REF page also does not accept the RWY.

- Without RWY V1, VR, V2 have to be set manually... (I want to fly now!)

What have I changed? Nothing that I know of except flying now more the 77LR/F...

Please help. Thanx. (Without support here I will open a ticket at PMDG's...)

Hi folks,

I opened a ticket at PMDG support now.

As they programmed the FMC message PROGRAM PIN ERROR, they will know what brings it up.

I keep you posted. CU,
