Welcome to the Photoreal forum

Featured Replies

This forum was suggested by our members, and we are happy to set it up. This forum is a generic Photoreal forum by request. That is, it is a forum where commercial vendors can discuss their projects, and users can get help, swap ideas, and put their toe in the water to see if they might like creating Photoreal addons. Welcome aboard!

Hi Tom, I think its a forum that will benefit many users. Thanks

Funny I was doing some "forum cruising" tonight and just came upon this. Ah, good timing as it looks like it just started today. I think photoreal textures are making great strides these days. Hope to see this forum flourish. I like how AVSIM is breaking the mold for typical forums with new ideas. Applause.gif Clutch

I must confess, after flying Larry Woodson's Photo Scenery over the last 3 months, I am hooked, and cannot go back to the "unreal" auto generated world! His last 50cm (80GIG) State of Arizona is a pleasure to fly over. Thanks for starting up this Forum. It is greatly appreciated. Now that Terabyte drives are inexpensive, the future looks bright for this technology. Dennis

First, make sure you know where the main AZ scenery file is located. Open FSX and navigate to the Scenery Library. Depends on your OS (win7 has a quirk about the right click in the white space) but generally you need to tell the Scenery Library where the AZ file is located. When you add it to the library it will be at the top (highest priority). You can leave it there for now or move it down the list - no reason to just now. Look for a 'check mark' in the box next to the name of the AZ file and you are good to go. I don't have AZ added but the states look like this. Google 'how to add scenery in win7 for the right click in white area. I sure thought Larry included a one page instruction sheet for installations. 1.jpg2.jpg Ray

Thanks Ray! Got it......and its awesome!

HelloI live in the England. I am interested in buying this software, but I have a couple of questions ;the process of buying it, because of where I live, England, seems difficult. It would have been great if one of the established vendors of England ( RC Simulations et al ) was an agent and were selling it.In fact, if they were, I'm sure that there would be very many sales in the UK.So, is there any liklihood of a UK based seller of this product in the near future? I know someone is going to tell me that Buying it direct is no problem etc , but I perceive it to be so, mainly because of theupgrading to 50 cm business. Sending Hard drives backward and forwards acroos the Atlantic isn't attractive.May I ask when the whole area will available in 50cm, so that a one off mailing of this product is all that is necessary? I appreciate that the owner is a busy chap, but some idea of when the complete product will be available in one hit would be appreciated. Thank you in anticipation. FB

You can wait until the end to purchase. I think it will take me 4 more months. Now that I have all the aerials the first step is gone. The second step in the process is the time consuming one.To generate a grid of GeoTiff's to resample for one state takes one computer about 1 to 2 weeks to process (24/7)I currently have a primary contact in the UK who sends the upgrade drive back to me for reload after it has made the rounds.I'm trying to find a distributors internationally. Anyone willing please contact me.

Woodson Thanks for the reply. As a past customer of RC Simulations of Bristol, I can recommend them as software dealers. They may well be the most prolific and popular sellers of flight sim software ( and hardware) in the UK. They have sponsored a number of nationally attended flight sim shows etc.HTHFB
