Update on the Activation issue please?

My two pennies worth: even though a third party contracted by PMDG has built the installer, PMDG is directly responsible for ensuring all functionality testing has been completed correctly and the installer works flawlessly before placing the product out for download. To date, PMDG have not even offered all of us who cannot activate even an ounce of compensation for our endless wait or even a complementary gift (600/700 series) upon completion of that product to ease our frustration. This would ease a huge amount of frustration and anger amongst many of us who just get a lame response through the support tickets we have all opened regarding this issue. J
I really understand your frustration and that it is easy for me, not in that position to say this, but i really beleave that PMDG is a good organization and i am sure they will not rest until you guys are satisfied. Good luck and i hope that satisfaction comes soon.Regards,

Rick Hobbs

Lame excuse once again from a third party no doubt? I used to design the things, I know what goes on behind the scenes and by the way. You can!
so you are telling me that you can create something complex as the NGX and know 100% that no configuration, anywhere will have any trouble? No conflicting software anywhere, no OS updates conflicting. You can judge all of that from say 10 beta testers?

Yep, You just need the right skills and test scripts and team. We do it all the time at work and have written much more complex software which many lives depend on the result to get it right first time all the time! Let's face it it would have been better to beta test this thing for months than release something useless to many. 10 beta testers you day? I'd have expected 50 all around the world for something which has been in development for possibly the best part of a decade, let's get it clear testers and people who want to get their hands on something like this are available by the thousands, so the excuses are not warranted in this case. Once again yet another lame excuse and poor decision making and foresight of what was required for the magnitude of the test arena.

People who want to test it may be in the thousands, but people who can thoroughly test it (aka real world NG pilots) are not. Don't bother wasting your breath arguing with me. I have zero problem with the way PMDG is run. In fact, I praise Mr Randazzo and his team. They are fantastic. Without them, I wouldn't have my 744 or my NG. Without them, my FSX experience wouldn't be the same. So why not you go find the balls and say to Mr Randazzo's face what you think, and try convince him that he is running his company wrong.

I think we should let this be a message to all who are unable to activate. PMDG WILL fix it. They're not some cowboy company trying to earn a quick buck. They always do things right. You will get your NGX. Be patient. PMDG can only go as fast as Flexnet goes. The more you shout and complain to them, the more annoyed they get, the least likely they are going to move things along. They know you can't activate. They've heard your complaints. So stop coming forward and saying bad things about PMDG. They are by far THE best aircraft addon producer for FS. All you are doing is stirring a lot of hardcore PMDG supporters, such as myself, and giving yourself a bad image. Just calm down. Relax. PMDG know you have paid $70 for the NGX. You don't need to keep telling them. Let them sort it out. They are the professionals. Not you. The day you can start giving companies a bad name is the day you run a successful company like PMDG. Okay. Period. The end.

Dear NGX, Nice to see you fighting for PMDG but can I ask you in which connection you are to this company? My reason to ask is, given you are in connection with PMDG, how could you came up with such argumentation? 1. Surly PDMG is responsible to his customers and NOT any third party.2. Be patient, you get your NGX. Fair enough, but patient for a month, 2 month a year.3. I have a reasonable complain but I annoy them and therefore they “least likely” will solve my problem? I hope you are not connected in any way with PDMG as such statements would open a few legal doors.4. With my reasonable complain I give myself a bad image? How?5. To remind a company about their obligations is not unreasonable and yes, they are the professionals and I am the customer which gives, with many others, the financial means to this company.6. Most customers who have encountered some problems are patient but it would be nice if PDMG would be a bit more communicative and would give some time frame until this problem could be fixed.

Hello guys, I've been in FS world since 1998, and I have been a loyal PMDG customer since the first version of the 737, when it came out, years ago. Nobody here is complaining or trying to attack the way PMDG handles their business, because I think that they do very well. I like the way Mr. Randazzo handles the forum, as well as the Customer Support. I understand aswel that the problem here is caused by a third party, but what I know is that 4 days ago we had an update from them saying that it was their number 1 priority, and that we would know something on monday because they were able to reproduce the issue... and now, we are still sitting here without knowing anything. I'd be happy with a little topic saying, we don't know anything yet. Just a little official update. In the end, we paid 70$ and we aren't able to fly. Lucky us, its only as small number of people! Regarding the betatesting... as I said in another post I am a real A320 pilot, flying for one of the European Major Low Costs. I've been betatesting software for FS since 2001, for the major companies... and believe me when I say betatesting is really tiring and sometimes, very difficult. Lot of people likes the idea of doing testing, because they want to have the product before others, but trust me when I say that testing is sometimes a real pain in the "axx". I know what I'm talking about. Not everybody can do it... and I bet you, the PMDG team is one of the best around for sure! You can't test EVERYTHING... there is no way. At least not with the budget that FS companies have. If you are UBISOFT and you are testing Call Of Duty (that sells millions) you might aswel have a bigger test team... but don't remember this es FSX, and thing about the market share that it has. Anyways... thanks for your posts... I didn't want this to be a PMDG blaming topic... Just a little update from the team would be fine for me. Have a nice day! Gio

I do think PMDG have been a little slack and slow at keeping customers with an activation problem informed and sorted. I too had a activation problem with no activation window i got it sorted after 1 week. But PMDG never replied to my Ticket yes they might be flat out and the Best at what they do regarding Aircraft add ons but that is still no excuse after forking out $70 Jason Richards
