Why is everybody so much into heavy long-haulers?

NGX: same with me, I always recreate my personal and business flights and attempt to fly them in the same type and model of aircraft. For those thinking of where to go, there's a great US site, Four Flights an Hour, which I assume computer generates flights for VFR, IFR, marginal VFR and Really Awful IFR. The flights are of different length so you can choose from your C172 all the way up to a 737/320 to fly them in. The weather by the way is real so its a good test. You setup your flight of course, they are only airport pairs. Only problem the service at home just doesn't match the flight attendants in Business.

KInd regards,

Ah, when a 737 flies over my golf course (Eisenhower Park in Long Island going to JFK) 1500 feet, I hardly notice it. When a 747 or 777 flies by - I drop my putter and stare at it with my mouth open.
There is a horse paddock which is open to public at the end of RWY 16 at YMML and the view is amazing. You are on a slope so not under them but level with them when they are on landing.

There is a grass bank at the edge of the M25. The base of 9L & 9R at EGLL is just past the bank. You can see straight across heathrow from it. Best is when the A380's come over at <100 ft

Ah, one of the airports I want to go to is EGLL along with TNCM and TFFJ.

Remember the BA 777 that lost power and stalled at the edge of 9L? That supposedly cleared that bank by less than 50 feet

I myself tend to fly all kinds of routes, but my favorite FS aircraft at the moment are the PMDG MD-11, PMDG 737NGX, Leonardo Maddog and LDS767. With those aircraft I can fly wherever I want and do all kinds of routes. I do not necessarily like bigger planes better, it depends on how the plane looks. I do not think a 747 is better than a 767 because it's bigger. As a mattert of fact, I like the 767 better than the 747, simply because to me it is aesthetically most pleasing to look at. I also love its operation better than that of the 747, for reasons I'm not that sure off. And the MD-80, which is a rather small aircraft, is also a plane I also really love to fly. The MD-11 is the only really big plane that I tend to fly regularly these days. Why? Not because it's big, but because it's such a fun plane to fly. And when the 777 comes out, I'll buy it because I love to fly it (flew the PSS777 to bits back in the FS9 days) and because it's extremely widely used.
