Autopilot procedures

Recommended Posts

When on ground, often right after the start-up, i turn the hading and altitude knob on the autopilot according to my route. Does this sounds right? Is there any good guides someplace for correct A/P use?Best regards Gunnar

Always before takeoff, the MCP is set to V2 or V2+10 (speed), LNAV and VNAV armed if wanted, heading set to departure runway heading, and altitude set to intial cleared altitude. Autopilot is activated after you pass 250 feet.

Hi Gunnar, Cant say your doing anything wrong there mate. Kenny's recommendations above are spot on. The only thing I tend to do slightly differently is not engage the AP until I see | THR REF | LNAV | VNAV SPD | displayed on the PFD. Regards,Lee.
