Hello: To eradicate the trees, one must create an exclude polygon ex: a rectangle over the area of the sandbar, which contains instructions to "Exclude" trees from the specified area (exclude "Autogen"). This can be done using SBuilderX, Airport Design Editor (aka "ADE";), Airport Facilitator (aka "AFX";) or the live-in-FS-preview-only version of same called Airport Studio. For FSX, such an exclude BGL can still be made from XML code and compiled via BGLComp, but also can be made as a SHP file compiled via SHP2VEC... 3 compilers in the FSX SDK. http://msdn.microsof...y/cc707102.aspx Surprisingly, an old legacy method from several prior versions of FS can also still be used to define an "Exclude" area in the active copy of Scenery.Cfg, but it is a deprecated and less easy to track method, so creating and Exclude with other methods to output a separate BGL file is preferable. http://msdn.microsof...ExcludeProperty Hope this helps ! CORRECTED - AVSIM Forum "Edit" mode 'mangled' HTML codes in original post above before timing out < ATTENTION MODS: please delete post above > Hello: To eradicate the trees, one must create an exclude polygon ex: a rectangle over the area of the sandbar, which contains instructions to "Exclude" trees from the specified area (exclude "Autogen"). FYI: The ESP HTML version of the FS SDK documentation is much more easily readable, and is nearly identical in content: http://msdn.microsof...y/cc707102.aspx Surprisingly, an old legacy method from several prior versions of FS can also still be used to define an "Exclude" area in the active copy of Scenery.Cfg, but it is a deprecated and less easy to track method, so creating and Exclude with other methods to output a separate BGL file is preferable. http://msdn.microsof...ExcludeProperty Hope this helps ! There are lots of great sand bar landings (and clearings) in New Zealand :) Click on my sig for details of the scenery that will allow you to do so :)
