Broken links to 747-400 Type Rating Lessons 1-3 on PMDG website

Recommended Posts

In the downloads section of the PMDG website the links to 747-400 Type Rating Lessons from 1 through 3 are broken. Also some other links on this page are broken and/or not working. And the same goes for several liveries for the 747-400.

Ironically, I had just found all 4 lessons on an old hard drive. My question is: all 4 lessons have files that refer to FS9. The only lesson that is downloadable from the website (lesson 4) also shows "FS9". Are these files valid only for FS9, or can they be used for FSX also? I was under the assumption that the 2 programs were not interchangeable, but perhaps that rule doesnt apply to the lesson files?

The aircraft in FS9 and FSX are nearly identical. The differences are in the coding. The type courses and manuals will work with both versions.

Ron, As Kenny mentioned they should work for FSX but if I recall correctly the Lesson 3 and 4 have caused problems when using the explicit flight plan files etc. Others have found that for FSX you need to set the aircraft and flight plan up from scratch to avoid issues. There's been a few posts about this some months ago.You may want to search the forum for known problems about the lessons. RegardsMark

Thanks, guys. I used to fly the QOTS, but not in a while. I'll probably re-study the pdf files, but wont add the other files.

I purchased the 747 not too long ago and would like to get my hands on those pdf files 1-3. The number 4 type rating link works, but the others are broken.Anyone know where I could download them? - Jyri Peltola
