Leonardo Fly the Maddog Issue

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, a really annoying problem occured on my last flights with Leonardo's Fly The Maddog 2008. Just after lift off several messages appear on the EOAP: L oil press lowL gen offL CSD oil press lowL hyd press low I'm not sure, but very probably the left engine shuts down, too. That may be a rookie mistake, but I currently have no idea what may have caused it, so I'd be very happy if somebody has any idea how to solve that... Praying.gif

This is a rookie mistake. You must either read the manual carefully and use the throttle carefully on take-off, or disable failures in the Config utility.

Thank you,but how do I know how much thrust I have to set for take-off? I couldn't find any chapter about this in the tutorial or the manuals...

Do the tutorial, that's a must! You never just apply full throttle, that will inevaitably lead to the engines failing. Instead using TOGA mode for the A/T. But, as I said, do the tutorial a few times. Even if you don't do the same flight, just use the procedures mentioned in the tutorial.

Am I right when I say the MD-80 is more complicated than other aircraft types? However, I will try tomorrow, and thank you very much for your advice!

Yes - the Leonardo MD-80 is possibly the most complex aircraft produced for FS9. It requires study. It is easier at first if you disable failures (ie; set to infinity in the Config utility), so you can at least enjoy a few flights before you decide to increase the realism.

Disabling failures will not help you with Leonardo. The reason is what you are getting is not a failure. It is an incorrect operation of the aircraft. What I always recommend to people is READ BEFORE YOU BUY.Leonardo Maddog is definitely the most hardcore addon aircraft for the MFS series. It is intended for pilots eager to read, learn and practise. A lot. If you still look for an easy way around (not recommended), there are posts both here and in the Leonardo forum on how to oprate engines on departure.I have written a mini point-to-point tutorial some time ago here in the FS9 forum but I don't remember the tiltle of the thread. Do some searching and you will find it. EIDT: OK, here you are, try this: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/260789-maddog-2008-pro/page__view__findpost__p__1638537
