August 24, 201114 yr Hi ! I have 2 requests for you : i had a problem with my FSX.CFG so i delete it and recreate an another one. Since this issue, i have no more sound for condition lever flight when it s activated (i get the condition lever taxi sound however).Any idea ? This is not a big issue, but i m pretty sure, there is a link with my FSX.CFG replacement. Then, i would like to know what is the process to start up engine during a flight ? For example in this video i see it s possible, but with a standard procedure (on the ground), it doesn't work. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CK8VnK3YCA&feature=related Thanks for your help. I love this aircraft thanks PMDG !!!

August 24, 201114 yr Hi ! I have 2 requests for you : i had a problem with my FSX.CFG so i delete it and recreate an another one. Since this issue, i have no more sound for condition lever flight when it s activated (i get the condition lever taxi sound however).Any idea ?....Are you getting the condition levers fully forward? I find that using my CH Throttle Quadrant the levers go very nearly fully forward but not quite far enough to get the 'condition lever flight' call. If I press Ctrl + Shift + F3 they go all the way forward and I hear the call. Andy Lawton
August 24, 201114 yr +1 to what Andy said. I have to do the same every once a while with a pair of Saitek throttles. Have to brush up on my Garrett brain here but jsut working through it ...you have the aircraft flying...one of the engine's is shut down and I assume feathered. You'll need to set Start Master to Air. Condition Lever full forward (fine). Power Lever back in Beta range. Use appropriate unfeather pump. As engine speed increase (not sure when but 40% sounds safe to me) press start button on overhead. Should fire right up. BUT...i'm not sure if this is possible in the PMDG sim...i'll try it out tonight maybe. Patrick Houghton
August 25, 201114 yr ..... If I press Ctrl + Shift + F3 they go all the way forward and I hear the call.Slight mistake, I did that from memory - it's actually Ctrl + F3 Andy L
August 25, 201114 yr Author Thanks so much for your answer guys.I have a saitek X52 throttle, i will try with the keyboard to be sure it works.Hougton : I will try also ! Thanks fssharry : Realy sorry, my mistake ! I miss the rules, now my profil is correctly fill
August 26, 201114 yr Author Yes it works with the keyboard. Thanks guys. I had not enough time to try an airstart procedure, Hougton, if you try it, give me your feedback
August 27, 201114 yr Okay, as for the air start: It's not entirely realistic but it is possible. Basically you shut down one engine/feather.Power lever to "flight idle" - just before Beta rangeNow, Bring condition lever to taxi (I'm not sure if the real world procedure requires 100% or 72%)Run unfeathering pumpWith start master at Air, press start buttonYou still get the ground start sound and similar behaviour with outrageous temperatures - but it starts with no fire or anything. In the real aircraft - I believe you don't use the unfeather pump manually. The start button will automatically activate it during the start cycle with the start master set to "air"....and you probably wouldn't see the >800 degree temps either. So its possible but not really realistic. Patrick Houghton
August 30, 201114 yr Author Hi Houghton, i will try ! Thanks so much for your help ! I gonna do a nice trip along the east cost of USA to the carribean islands ! My god what the plane ! Wow amazing behaviour even in a crazy weather condition. I love it !
August 30, 201114 yr That's awesome you are enjoying it! Yes the weather effects are very neat, and it can become quite he plane to handle in bad weather. You certainly get thrown around a lot more than any of those big 37's and such. Patrick Houghton
September 4, 201114 yr Author Hi Houghton, i tried today your procedure for airstart ... however, it doesn't work for me. Please, could you explain me with other details ? I m pretty sure i did something wrong, but i don' find my mistake. Thanks again for your help
September 6, 201114 yr K, Make sure the affected engine (the one you are re-starting) power lever is idle. Make sure Start Master is set to "Air" Are you getting any rotation? Do you hear the start up sound? Patrick Houghton
