Callout 500 smart

Recommended Posts

Hi, maybe it´s my fault, but the 500 feets callout, in smart mode, never sounds. And the ac is perfectly established (both LOC and G/S) in ther ILS.Is it me? Thanks in advance. Miquel Egea.

The "Smart" 500 callout is not made in a precision approach (i.e. ILS approach). The "500" callout will only be made during non-precision approaches if this option is selected. Cheers, DZ

Well , I have read the introduction, in page 0.00.61, and english is not my language, but i understood totally different from what you are saying: "There are a number of settings here that willallow you to customize which altitude callouts you will hear duringthe approach to landing phase of flight. Note that the “500” callhas an option for a “Smart Callout.” If enabled, this call will bemade only if you are established on an ILS glide-slope." Thanks. Miquel Egea.

I'm reasonably certain that's a fault in the manual. My understanding of the "Smart" callout was that it was for Non-Precision approaches. The GPWS assumes that if you are established on an ILS glideslope, you have a very accurate idea of where the aircraft is vertically, and the "500" callout would be superfluous.

Well, then it´s a manual´s fault. I´ll change the 500 option to ON, then. I like callouts.Thanks. Miquel Egea.
