Best resolution?

Recommended Posts

Hi gents, I've bought the PMDG 737NGX on the release date and I've no freezes or crazy hangs. It just works great! (20FPS with mouse @ Aerosoft Amsterdam!) But I've got a question about the best resolution to show the PMDG 737NGX.I've turned on my Anti-Aliasing and everything is sharp (also all add-ons like Digital Aviation CaptainSim and iFly for example), except the PMDG737NGX. I've attached an image to show you. This is my first PMDG product so I can't conclude if this the only PMDG-product where the 'problem' occurs. Example with UK2000 scenery (compared to UK2000 static aircraft):14t3toh.jpg If you don't see the problem, I'll upload more screenshots where you can see the difference between normal aircraft and PMDG737NGX. Thank you EDIT: best resolution of the picture by clicking on it..

What is the question again?... Always use the native resolution of your monitor unless, and this is my case, your monitor is just TOO high res. My main monitor has a huge 2560x1440 resolution and if I run FSX like that, well, FPS would be just to low. So I set it to 1980x1080 and let the monitor do the scaling.

Remove the IVAO window and try again.Or force AA/AF via Nvidia Inspector (not enhance but rather override).See PMDG General Forum for setup instructions.

You need Photoshop and a little nvidia plugin that allows you to tamper with DDS files. Basically all you have to do is re-save all non specular texture files with mipmaps added. Here is the plugin: http://developer.nvi...adobe-photoshop Good luck!
Nonono, not necessary! This is payware. Imagine that you needed doing that for each payware you bought.

AA is not the problem here, the textures are lacking mipmaps. Before I found that solution I figured the only way to get those textures relatively smooth is to use massive amounts of AA, like 32x. If you mipmap the textures you won't need that much AA and your textures will be sharp. If you don't have photoshop, you could send m the whole texture folder and I'd gladly add mips to it. ... I'm not imagining, that's how I roll unfortunately.. every addon I buy.. I must add mips to the textures.. consumes a lot of time but eh..

Thanks for the replies! I do have Photoshop and I'll have a look at it tonight. If I'm not able to add mips, I'll let you know!
