Need help : no V speeds in FMC

Today I wanted to make a flight form Brussels to Monastir and make a DME Arc approach. This is what it showed after having programmed the route,legs and Init Ref: Fuel : FullPayload : Full and 2x 2500 cargo Act Perf InitGW 174.7 ZFW 128.6Cost Index 40CRZ Alt 330Trans Alt 5500 N1 Limit40 SEL/DATTO-2 22KCLB-1 TakeOff RefFlaps 10CG 20.5% Trim 6.54 The V speeds stay empty, so surely I made a mistake. Anyone knows where I went wrong ?

you have to select a rwy in the dep/arrival section for the v-speeds to show. How else should the fmc know v1?regards,christopher volle

Hi Gerard, VSpeeds do not appear by themself. Did you push the 3 first right buttons so they get calculated ? @Christopher: the screen shows rwy 25R for departure.

Just found out that the plane was to heavy the way I set the fuel and payload. When setting the fuel back to 2/3 and cargo to 2x 1500 the V Speeds showed up.

Hi Make sure you execute the perf init page after populating the perf init page, if you have a white light over the exe key you need to press exe

Normally the plane shouldn't be to heavy I think. Also try to select a greater Flap setting. Taking of with flaps 15 or even 25 is possible in the 737.

Had this problem before i hadnt executed my flight plan as was mentioned before so make sure you have pressed the execute key after you have entered all the detail of course

174.7 tons is within -900 limitations.Flaps 5 is normal, flaps 15 optional, to be used where required. More flaps means shorter roll but lower obstacle clearance/ climb angle performance.

I had this problem when the plane was too light!From the manual "The FMC will protect for minimum control speeds by increasing V1 VRand V2 as required. However, the FMC will not compute takeoff speeds for weights where the required speed increase exceeds the maximum certified speed increase. This typically occurs at full rated thrust and lightweights. In this case, the message "V SPEEDS UNAVAILABLE" will appear on the FMC scratchpad and the takeoff speed entries will be blank.Takeoff is not permitted in this condition as certified limits have been exceeded. The options are to select a smaller flap setting, select derate thrust and/or add weight (fuel). Selecting derate thrust is the preferred method as this will reduce the minimum control speeds. Note that the assumed temperature method will not help this condition as the minimumcontrol speeds are determined at the actual temperature and therefore are not reduced"Hope this helps.

When this has happened I have gone into climb page and selected max climb and that has always made vspeeds appear when they didn't after selecting and confirming them in the takeoff page. Is this not recommended. Peter Rowan

I noticed that you have "QRH off" in LSK 6R. Turn it on and you should see v-speeds.
