Forum Sections Needed

PMDG Team, Just a suggestion here... The single NGX forum has become fragmented with topics that could be placed into sections which would make finding the type of information someone would like to read about a lot easier to find. I'm not talking about searching for a particular issue, but visiting the forums to cruise through the topics to see what's goiung on and what users are experiencing or sharing. May I suggest the following: -Aircraft Operations-Users Technical Issues (Users helping users)-Screen Shots-LIveries-Suggestions-Product Feedback Anyway, this might make reading the forums a little easier and less time consuming. I agree. This is supposed to be a support forum but you get everything here from screenshots to rants. From what I can see maybe 10% of posts are genuine support issues.

While I agree, separate forums make each forum harder to moderate.And you'll end up getting false prophets.

What about a FAQ? I'm not bloody writing it though! LOL. A fair bit of work but will save countless repetitive posts and together with the above, this would make finding things on here a bit easier. Actually, so would a search function..........Hmmmmm Dan.

I agree with this. As the situation currently is a new post can get off the first pages in a matter of mere hours. If it fails to catch enough attention by then it's essentially gone. I've been forced to bump a couple of threads myself and generally I hate doing this sort of thing in a forum as I feel it's a bit too much attention stealing. Having a couple subforums could make this easier to navigate. Another thing that would help would be to have a pair of official praise/criticism threads. This could be stickied to the top and anyone who wants to say how awesome this plane is or how much it sucks HAS to post it in there. Any new threads on that subject would get deleted. This is done in other game developer forums that I frequent and it certainly keeps all that stuff contained in its own section. Also it helps balance out the positive vs negative reviews. A user with complaints is far more likely to make an entire new post and start a conversation about it, while a satisfied user will generally only drop a couple of comments to that effect in some pre-existing thread. By having both post such comments in their respective threads it should keep things more balanced as well as help with the operation of the forum.

Unfortunately no matter how you organize things, and yes it would make things easier, there are a small percentage of individuals that will hijack a thread with a genuinely interesting or informative dialog and turn it south in a matter of a couple of posts and they don't care what catagory it is in or that somebody really is looking for help. Quite sad really.
