Please help...FSX keeps crashing with the NGX in VC mode

Recommended Posts

All, My NGX has been constantly crashing when using the VC. I am getting about 12 FPS at big add-on airports with 50% traffic using UT2. The sim crashes if I go to a menu item and try to come back to the cockpit, or if I try to change airports. It crashes if I go from windowed mode to full screen. It also crahsed tonight in New York coming into LGA. I am running 3 monitors using TH2G, so I know there is a high graphics load. Others in the forum report low FPS with three monitors, but not crashes. Here is the error log Log Name: ApplicationSource: Application ErrorDate: 8/30/2011 12:26:42 PMEvent ID: 1000Task Category: (100)Level: ErrorKeywords: ClassicUser: N/AComputer: FlightOperationDescription:Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61637.0, time stamp: 0x46fadb14Faulting module name: d3d9.dll, version: 1.0.0.1, time stamp: 0x48751493Exception code: 0xc0000005Fault offset: 0x00006d1cFaulting process id: 0x1678Faulting application start time: 0x01cc67392c3e68c2Faulting application path: C:\FSX Main\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exeFaulting module path: C:\FSX Main\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\d3d9.dllReport Id: 39b0defe-d32d-11e0-905d-00268317052aEvent Xml:<Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> <System> <Provider Name="Application Error" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1000</EventID> <Level>2</Level> <Task>100</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2011-08-30T17:26:42.000000000Z" /> <EventRecordID>4602</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>FlightOperation</Computer> <Security /> </System> <EventData> <Data>fsx.exe</Data> <Data>10.0.61637.0</Data> <Data>46fadb14</Data> <Data>d3d9.dll</Data> <Data>1.0.0.1</Data> <Data>48751493</Data> <Data>c0000005</Data> <Data>00006d1c</Data> <Data>1678</Data> <Data>01cc67392c3e68c2</Data> <Data>C:\FSX Main\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\fsx.exe</Data> <Data>C:\FSX Main\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\d3d9.dll</Data> <Data>39b0defe-d32d-11e0-905d-00268317052a</Data> </EventData></Event> Thanks, Dave Win7 (64)i26K OCd to 4.4NVIDIA GTX 580 superclocked8 GB DDR 1600 memory3 monitors with TH2G

With the d3d9.dll's you want to try different drivers.

Dave, problem you are experiencing is not due to the PMDG, but ENB and probably UIAutomationCore. You should try UIAutomationCore fixWhen I use FSPax I have no problem during daytime, but on dawn/dusk almost every flight I`ve got CDT. Unfortunately, NGX+ENB+FSpax almost are not compatible because of the algorithm of panels lighting. In my opinion, this problem is unsolvable.

Ok...I think there are updated drivers for the NVIDIA that I can download. I thought I had the UIAutomationCore issue fixed, but I'll double check that. I'll also delete ENB (although I like it). I also have the hotfix installed. We'll see if that helps. Thanks, Dave

The error file- d3d9.dll, is the ENB file. Hopefully deleting ENB will fix my CTDs. It would be great if PMDG could do a fix to support ENBSeries. I think FSX, by default, is way too bright at night, and ENB is a good fix for it. Dave

NGX works like a dream to me, even tho I've had the same issues as yourself. I just don't do the things I know may upset it now.......easy. I can do flights from cold and dark to shutdown, but I don't skip between windows and full screen, switch programs, etc, and I cut back a fair way on the autogen which seems to have helped considerably with frame rates. If you know what upsets the NGX, don't do them........Straight Face.gif

Takeoff and landing is what is upsetting the NGX, and I kind of have to do those.biggrin.png That being said, I do see your point. It all depends on what the individual can accept as good enough though. Sure, I could turn down all my sliders, delete all my add on scenery and traffic, and the NGX would run like a dream. The goal is to get it to the best place I can without a significant performance loss. I am going to reduce some autogen and cloud draw distances when I use the NGX and see how that works. Lastly, we paid a decent ammount of money for this product. "Not doing things to upset it" is not a good enough answer for a $70.00+ product. Way too many people are having crashes and freezed right now. PMDG has always been awesome and this will all be fixed. I should have waited a couple of months to buy, but I had the FS9 73s and they were the best. This product will get there too.

Nice vids...ENB is great. My NGX has had many errors with the ENB dll file. It sounds like a lot of people are having trouble with ENB. I think a big part of my problem is my three monitors overloading my graphics card. It works fine on one screen.
