AoA's First Training Video Now Available

Recommended Posts

I'm just trying to figure out information about the program. How does it help?
What you have here is a in depth training course. Its aimed to be similar to an Airline Type Rating Course. Of course it isnt really that so it will forever remain 'unofficially' that. So for all intents and purposes, its a NGX Type Rating Course.

It sure is, if you want to spend the next few years or so learning everything about this very complex aircraft !! I wish the likes of AoA were around when I was training to be 737 pilot. The Boeing manuals are bland and boring to say the least and are only good for reference.I love the Boeing multimedia CBT which is what any pilot I have ever flown with use more than anything else. The CBT is basically the Fcoms and FCTM in visual and audio form but you are also Taught how to do everything. The AoA stuff will make learning the aircraft and it's complex AFDS, FMC etc much easier and faster for people to learn."A picture speaks a thousand words" I reckon that video speaks millions !!! Judging from what I have seen, I reckon these videos will be a must have.

Agreed Ray, they are looking great and will be an invaluable source of information. Just noticed the thread got 'stickied' so I'll endeavour to keep it up to date with any future AoA releases.

I think AoA said that their experience and those of the pilots from the CBT are that this is boring as hell and the monotonous voiceover wanna make you fall asleep ...They want to create the same as the CBT, but much more exciting, with colored pictures and animantion and a voiceover you don't fall asleep while listening :)

I purchased the MD-11 course and can only say that Nick and Chris did a splendid job on them. What I have seen so far, apertaining to the NGX course, is already visibly stunning. The stuff that has been submitted so far, for free! is an example of the sort of quality tuition you can expect. This is exclusive. It has no competition and in Nick's hands, you will learn about so much more than you'd ever read about in the manuals. It is taught to you, in the same way as you learnt when you was schooling and because of that, you will learn so much quicker. Compared to the cost of buying the full manuals, it's fantastic value.

Ray - there is systems depth in our product that you will not find in FCOM Vol.2. Lessons are constructed from scratch with an emphasis on teaching the content logically. While writing the lessons, the FCOM only provides basic framework. The meat is from the AMM. Never unnecessarily complex mind, just enough to add a unique element that captures the interest and give you information that the FCOM doesn't go near.

Hi there,I signed up for the Captains Package yesterday and watched the first lesson : Groundwork / Aircraft Lighting - 18 mins. Having it played it on my 46" TV via AppleTV thanks to full HD offline downloads I was able to truly appreciate the effort and thought that has gone into this training course. Think of "your best teacher" at school with material that you just lapped up regardless as to the complexity, teamed up with Star Wars-level visuals that just make sense... Similar to the "we're going to take out the Death Star" sequences....I learned more about lights in 18 minutes than I thought I'd known for about two years! And what's more I remember it. So with the 40-odd hours of Groundwork to look forward to, I can only imagine the level of preparation for Flightwork this will give me. The context delivered in Flightwork based on this prior training will prove invaluable. It really is as simple as that. I have never been so excited about a training course in my life. Using the PMDG 737 without the AoA Training is just not the same thing. The AoA is a must have, and comes in outstanding quality!

Iam not paying any money if there is only 1 video available. Maybe they should publish a release schedule or something.

Thats what has been stopping me from purchasing it. I actually want to wait until a few if not all is available and then make the purchase. I'm not the kind of person that pays for something that I can't actually use yet.
