Couple questions about winds aloft and DES

Featured Replies

I am using ASE for weather, and am trying to figure out where to get the wind speeds for proper cruise and descent to put into the LEGS and DES pages of the FMS. Any tuturials for this kind of entry. Thank you

You have to have to import a flight plan, and then scroll down in the nav log,you will see the avg winds, and temp at the bottom. Hopefully some day we will have a program that downloads the winds at each way point into our FMC.

FSBuild is good and can be set up to retrieve weather data from ASE. I think you can then gather aids aloft data from there, bug perhaps somebody else can comment?I personally don't like the routes FSBuild creates, but other than that it is very good.

I use flight aware for USA domestic flights, copy pasted into Sim routes(generate route tab),then exported to PMDG and FSX.I then import the FSX plan into ASE thru the briefing tab.

In ASE, click on the Briefing button and scroll down through the info in the box at the bottom labled "Textual Briefing". There's a list there with winds aloft data for all of the waypoints in your flightplan. I don't know if this data is updated during your flight.
