2D panel view

Recommended Posts

Hi,I found that when landing the MD11 (FSX) in the 2D cockpit that the runway disappears under the panel on final approach. Are there any views available that allow the runway to be visible until touch down? Many thanks Thomas

Make sure you are zoomed out all the way. Other than that use the external view.

I haven't tried it in the MD11, but in the NGX this works. Open the panel.cfg and change the entry in red, I use 5. and it works for me, give it a shot but save the original setting if it doesnt work for you.... There is a second way, In the MD-11 introduction page 73 there is a text called "adjusting the view angel for 2d users". With the buttons "ctrl+q" and "ctrl+shift+q" you can pan the 2d outside view up and down. Hope this helps Manfred

exactly as Manfred said + I can add, that sometimes for visual approach I use flaps 50 (i know i know its not very correct and good way), that will make your pitch less "agressive" and you will see the runway and the final approach speed will be lower. Dont take this too serious, just try it for fun.
