Bell helicopters are just a box with a pilot no detail

Recommended Posts

I just installed fsx gold. I ran the game and all seemed fine until I tried any Bell Helicopter. In free flight and all missions, the bells have no color or details to them. It's just a black box with a pilot inside. The rest of the game seems ok. Any thoughts on what's going on? Ps, I have a clean machine with windows 7. It has more than adequate graphics card and speed. It ran 2004 without any problems.

Muwhahah! Welcome to FSX. A PC that ran "FS2004 without any problem" will probably have problems with FSX... What are your specs? Have you checked advanced animations? Made any shader mods?

That sounds more like an install glitch than a problem with the capability of the computer to run FSX. Al

There is no FSX Gold version! "FSX Gold" is just a title printed on a plastic DVD case that contains two FSX versions: 1. FSX Deluxe, and2. FSX Acceleration. To properly install "FSX Gold" you need to: a. Install FSX Deluxe (obvious)b. Start FSX Deluxe,c. Fly (so FSX creates certain start-up files that FSX Acceleration needs to properly install),c. Exit FSX Deluxe,d. Install FSX Acceleration. Cheers, - jahman.

Okie-Dokie, Smokie. FS2004 is to FSX as a Cessna 152 is to a Cessna Citation X. Jus' sayin'...

I wasn't saying his helo issue was due to old hardware, only a separate point that FS2004-capable PC probably won't be FSX-capable (or enjoyable). I re-read it now and it did sound like that (or read like that ehehe), but by problems I meant performance related, not oddball things like this issue.
