Reinstall of FSX

Recommended Posts

After following the excellent directions for the uninstall and reinstall and checking to make sure there are no hidden FSX "nuggets" anywhere and also following the instructions setting up a new path for the installation (C:\FSX) I go to reinstall. I receive a message saying there is already a copy of FSX on the system and continues to load to the default location. Can anyone point in the right direction and what I may doing wrong? Thanks.

All right it seems I now have a more complexing issue. I continued with the reinstall even after the message said I needed to uninstall the program. I loaded FSX and when I attempted to load the acceleration portion it said the program wasn't in english and would not allow the reinstall. So here I am without FSX at the present moment and without a clue on why the Win 7 will not completly uninstall the program. I could use a little help here. Thanks.

Check add/remove programs to see if it uninstalled all of fsx or just acceleration. If it won't uninstall, manually delete all the files/folders, be sure to check in appdata/roaming as well.Download & run ccleaner registry scan (it's free). Make a backup the first time it asks you to, then run it 2-3 more times or until it gives 0 registry errors. Reboot the pc & you should be good to go for a fresh install.
