autobrakes issue

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone Please advice on the following issue during landing (with auto brake 2/3):

  1. After touchdown and 80 knots reached I release reverse and try to use manual brake;
  2. Having 30 knots I stop braking and give some power to keep it and ensure taxiing (autobrake turned off by me!);
  3. But regardless of that the plane proceeds with slowing down till complete stop;
  4. And thereafter I can’t use manual brake and have to apply parking brake during taxi up to the gate.

I took notice of that only a few times but I’d like to understand why it happens from time to time. What do I wrong? Sorry if the issue has been brought already somewhere, I didn’t find. Thank you. ps carbon brakes engaged

Try lowering the spoilers instead to turn off the autobrake? That is what I do, and have no problems that way.
I will do. Thx

I always double tap the brakes to disengage the autobrakes. And set autobrake off as part of the after landing flow, when i'm vacating the runway. Never had a problem.

+1, works for me as well!

So what is my mistake? I shouldn't hold the brakes after reverse release? I just need to tap it twice instead, right?

If you read the introduction, it says you must doubletap the brakes (must exceed the force being applied by the autobrakes) to disengage them.

Make sure that you get an amber AUTOBRAKE DISARM light when you disengage the autobrakes (unless you do this by turning the switch to OFF).
