blue screen...now i'm up s**t creek

Recommended Posts

I'm having serious problems with my computer.I overclocked to 5.2 and temperatures where good! ( Max. temp 65C ) When booting there is no "OVERCLOCKING FAILED"writing...I've keeped it to 5.2 for a couple of days now, once again WITHOUT any sort of problem...Now. I was entering the product code of the PMDG 737 NGX, when the horrifying black screen came up...It's not the 737, 'cause after that happened I used the 747...and same thing.......Can anyone help?thanks

Did you run stress tests after overclocking?

Blue screen will be releated to CPU or rams, your's is black.....when you get black screen do you still have sound if your listening to music or something like that, does it reboot from there by itself or do you have to manually reboot your PC, if you have to manually reboot your PC when getting a black screen it can be related to your GPU, is your GPU overclocked? have you tried another driver for your GPU?

Initially you are on the desktop yes, but is your computer locking up, rebooting and some glitch is making the Bios try another drive that can't start or isn't a bootable drive? Not likely I know, but any suggestions people make can sometimes get the old brain going when you're trying to figure out what is wrong, which is why I suggested it. and with overclocking, it can very occasionally freak the bios out. Safe 5.2Ghz is VERY rare, and I highly doubt you got it up there 100% stable. Especially with air cooling and "max temp 65c"!!Did you stress test the system with Prime95 or similar to program to run the CPU on all cores for couple of hours on 100%???

Yup. OP, what voltages are you using to boot into Windows at 5.2GHz? That's an extreme overclock, and it worries me you haven't even mentioned stress test or voltages used.

Very adequate. 4.4GHz is a piece of cake for these chips.
