Controller message sound SB4

This is so mega-annoying that I just wanted to ask anyone if they have a solution: When a controller contacts me over private message, I don't have any sound! I tried changing everything in sounds in SB4, but still it doesn't chime if controller sends me the message to contact them.I get lots of disconnects from VATSIM since I miss the controller contacts. Pardon me for not staring into monitor for hours long to see if message arrives!

1. When flying on VATSIM it's necessary to keep both your ATC and Chat box windows open, and to check them periodically. Doing anything else and you're going to have problems, at least here and there. Also, if a controller believes you to be out of contract for more than 30 minutes he CAN file a complaint. Two or more complaints can result in your account being suspended for at least 1 week, but likely 30 days. This is due to the bandwidth that private parties pay for themselves to keep the network up and running. Anyway, when a controller or system generates a private message to you, you'll see a window pop up. Close the window after reading the info, so you'll be able to see the next PM, if one arrives. 2. I can't help you with the Sound Blaster settings. Two guys in our group have new Sound Blasters and have had so many problems they're just using the Realtek sound on their motherboards. However (and assuming your using FSINN and noit SB) ensure you have your chat sounds enabled in your FSINN settings. I don't have FSINN pulled up at the moment, but you can Google the FSINN manual. There are two manuals online, you want the one that has 60 something pages, not the one that has 40 something pages. I hope this will fix your problem. Be well.
