I am looking at a new system for fsx. I would like to run fsx with rex, ge, fsdt airports, fly tampa and addon aircraft like pmdg 737, qw 757, leonardo maddog. Would this system run with most sliders to the right ai traffic at 50 perecnt. (I currently have a core duo 8600 overclocked at 3.6 with a nividia gtx 250 card. It runs fsx however with payware aircraft my fps drops to the teens.) proposed build:

Hi, it will run FSX to about the standard that FSX is capable of running. That is subjective as people's expectations are different. It is a fine system as it stands. My only comments: 1) I would not pay them $100 to OC. Take the money and save it or apply it to an upgrade. OC it your self. Your opportunity to apply your $100 savings lays in:a) PSU, you only need 650 watts or less, of a quality PSU. I would suggest the 700Watt Corsair or 750 watt corasair, but Corsair.b Your cooling, you could upgrade to the 570LXc) Video card to the 580d) Add another Vrap. Ideally you want FSX dedicated and on the fastest drive.Drop the 1TB and go 2x 300GB or as stated save your money the system is a good one as is.

I'd go for a better motherboard and PSU

Yeah, a Z68AP-D3 probablt wont get your very far when it comes to OCing. For the PSU something from the Corsair TX range minimum IMO.

That is probably going to far. I have the UD3P and it got me to 4.8GHz easily. A UD3R would do a fine job as well. If you want a bit more go for a UD4, got a fully decked out i/o and only a little bit more.
