Hi all, I'm considering purchasing Massive Scenery, but as I fly out of New Jersey I am curious: Is there a large vertical division in the satellite imagery that has a very distinct division between regions? see http://maps.google.com/?ll=40.096622,-74.846179&spn=0.127506,0.253029&t=f&z=13&vpsrc=6&ecpose=39.97854941,-74.84585609,13191.36,-0.12,44.879,0 I realize the developer is at the mercy of the quality of the imagery, but I don't know what source material is being used. Turner 112: To the best of my knowledge, Sim Savvy isn't using satellite photos. There is some division line visible between some of the states, but nothing like seen on that link you provided. I notice a little blue tinge on some states, but nothing major, certainly nothing to prevent using it. It is absolutely incredible. Another thing that might help, in case you haven't checked it out. There is a much better active forum at www.simsavvy.com (that's the official site). All the way over on the right you'll see 'Sim Savvy Form'. You may get a better response on that one. Rick

hi, SS New jersey is very good. The source data does not come from satellite but from aerials so you will not have the same defects. It is true that you can have some slight shade variations between two neighbouring states or tiles but I don't find it a big issue , you quickly forget about it. Be aware that there is no water masking. You will not be disappointed. Go for it!!The screenies are from the 2 m resolution over burlington at 3000 ft AGL, I am waiting for the upgrade...Arizona 50 cm is gorgeous, see my post in the avsim screen shot forum.

Andrew, if you need additional screenies, let me know... and let me know WHERE in NJ you'd like to see. (Preferably by airport identifiers). I have the original 2m/px package now, and I'll be receiving the 50cm source updates shortly, and would be happy to provide you some more insight as needed. There is a source differential between NJ and PA near Philadelphia with the original 2m/px version. As you note, there isn't much to be done about it because you are at the mercy of the source material. That being said, your flight simming mind will quickly get used to such anomalies and you won't even really notice them after a while. -Greg

Aaah... I had a friend flying in the Kathy Jaffe down there last year. I'll see if I can scrape up some screenies in the region. From what I recall though, that central Jersey area from KWRI, N14, KVAY... all seems to be pretty anomaly-free. -Greg
