Thanks for the HU. I'll be watching. Hopefully PMDG has a DVR.... Jim Young

After many years of waiting, it wouldn't surprise me, if one of PMDG's "secret projects" they are still working on is a 757/767/787 ... or something like that.Especially a 757 would be great since there is no high-detailed simulation until now. I know LevelD are working on a 757 but who knows how long it will take ...

A PMDG 757 would be a godsend! A PMDG L-1011 would be too.

If the engines' are off what do ya do? I'm not trying to Boeing hate here but man - I was looking at some of the APS5000 documentation this evening and holy smokes - if the APU it that crazy I can only imagine how much juice the dual S/G's on the engine's are putting out. They could probably tether 787's in the sky - there's enough electricity there to run 5 of em.

Then you've got an APU, a ram ar turbine, its no different than a 767 or a 777. See, it just uses more electric systems rather than hydraulic, but its not like the power's off when you lose the engines. Its certified ETOPS

Indeed. And my 757 from one of those other companies has been so problematic and customer service so poor that I will never buy from that company again. I hope Level D Sim gets it in gear on that project, if not PMDG.

Yep that's the problem with most airliner addons out there... It looks like a 757, but it flies like.... well, it flies.... :Big Grin:That's the reason, why i only buy addons fromPMDG, FSLABS and LevelD.I hope the 777 will release until 2013...

Not enough data on the AC. They won't do a plane thats only been flying for a day. Wait a year, then reask
It will take a couple of years or more to develop, so the time is right. With PMDG direct contact with the manufacturer, they don't need to snoop around for data. Why wait for others to do it?

Boeing wont release technical specs to them for a brand new AC until it has been 'run in'.

I guess PMDG just guessed at producing that highly accurate 748 exterior model, since they have no access.

Its not the model thats the problem. Its the systems depth and flight model

To some extent yes, it is a guess, because the PMDG 800 was out before the actual aircraft's finalised design was fully completed and tested, but it is a good guess, since most of the physical differences between the 800 and the 400 are pretty well known, i.e. it is eighteen feet four inches longer than a 400 model, has different flaps, raked wingtips, the wing cross section is different, and it has those fancy serrated edges on the engine cowling. The handling will of course be somewhat different in terms of stability and such, since it is longer and weighs a lot more, and that could only be guessed at, so they did not bother to do so and kept it with the older 747's characteristics, which won't be wildly off the mark, because Boeing will not have wanted what is essentially just another 747 model to require a massively different rating in order to fly the thing, since it is a cheaper interim solution to compete with the A380 (a bit) until the Y3 replacement for the 747 and 777 design is finalised, and so Boeing don't expect to sell a huge amount of 800s. Same with me, except of course, I do like A2A's stuff too. I'd love a PMDG 757, that would be a definite buy from me. Actually, the advantage is they, they've got two plane types that are so similar, it would be so easy and economical to make a 757/767
