September 27, 201114 yr As an article, I think it's rather misleading in places actually, and (if you'll pardon the pun) puts a dangerous spin on some facts and suppositions, in order to support its contention, especially where the investigation into AF447 is concerned, where it draws conclusions related to speculation which the actual air accident investigation hasn't even confirmed is true yet. Of course nobody is going to write an article about safe flights, since that doesn't sell papers and magazines, so it's understandable that we're only likely to see articles about 'scary flight stories', but some of the journalism is more fanciful than factual. I'm not suggesting there is no such problem at all, since clearly there are some worrying incidents which have occurred, but I don't think the lack of attention to instruments in the cockpit of Turkish 1951 is especially comparable to the situation the pilots on Air France 447 found themselves in, or at least what we know of that situation for sure.
