Latest Progress of the NGX Repaints by McPhat

I noticed your tag line with your system specs and that is the perfect rig for FSX. Why would you be having OOMs with that setup if you have 8 gig of system memory? I haven't had an OOM since upgrading from 4 gig and 32-bit Vista to 8 gig and 64-bit Vista.
But don't you fly mainly in the 2D cockpit ? Lessen your chances of experience an OOM. If you push the limit anybody can have a OOM, even with a high end system. Your OS maybe 64bit, but fsx is not.

They should not be any more frequent since the NGX already has the same base 4096x4096 textures and bump maps, McPhat is just using the bump, specular, ect to the fullest potential
Ahhh? Interesting, I thought the stock aircraft was 2048x2048 - thanks for the info.

It looks great but I just don't buy their liveries. They package them so to get the 2 or 3 I want I have to buy $40 in packages; which for 2 or 3 liveries is outrageous. Somebody in their forum brought up the idea of building your own package or price per livery but I think it was rejected.
Yeah that was me, got shot down pretty hard

How do I manage hehe? Well I like to run unusually high settings (custom LOD edit of 6.5), max autogen, and with addons such as this, in addition to Orbx sceneries, the Virtual Address Space gets overwhelmed at times. A lot of people never get them because they run what I'd call "lower" settings than I do. The custom LOD and high AG settings, especially in Orbx (which is where I get 99% of my OOM's), can easily oversaturate the VAS, which = OOM
Now I know why you guys are having so many OOM issues, none of you listen to PMDG Tech support advice! Of course running MAX Autogen and ORBX Scenery with your sliders maxed out is gonna give you an OOM! What is this some sort of ego thing with the Sandy Bridge where everyone thinks if I get one I can run everything Maxed out then you wonder why you getting OOMs? Ah well thats what you get for being Stubborn and Bullheaded. Rolling%20Eyes.gif No Sympathy for You.

I have 4gb lol - and I run probably at one of the highest settings out of everyone here with LOD up past 6.5 too, and I have NEVER, NEVER experienced an OOM error..

Well, your attitude is not very nice. I don't think you ought to be advertising other products on the PMDG forum. Just my opinion!!

the stock picture was made without sun reflections (no sun because below clouds) while the mcphat picture was made above the clouds with sun. for a fair comparsion, they would have choosen the exact same position... just sayin..

I think it's called 'Marketing' :) The increase in detail is very noticeable but I spend 99.9% of the time staring through the windshield so I couldn't justify the cost of the repaints.

Okay for the record I am not marketing McPhat. I do not even currently own any of their products other than the Free American Airlines Liveries which are great. Next time I will post it in the PMDG General Forum. The Attitude Yesterday was more of a major Picard Face Palm, and I apologize for being so blunt! Having worked in the hardware repair department in the past I have had my share of frustrations dealing with Tech Support which is something that makes your hair gray fast. My biggest pet peve is when people do not follow instructions, read manuals, or pay attention to sound advice regarding hardware or software etc. But then again it is his system and he can do whatever he wants with it. When I read the post it just started making me think how much time I wasted over the years on certain support issues, that if customers had been a little more reasonable and listened to recommendations, the issues would have been solved more quickly. (That is the short version).

I thought that as well.... I must admit that the stock paints are great for the approximate 1 minute per flight that I am using external view..G

I shot you down? Really Alex? Did I? Cause I can quote my answer to you and to me I simply explained to you why we can't sell em separately... Terrence

You know if you can't sell individually for those reasons you could package them according to nationality. Being in the usa I really have no need for an air india livery just so I can fly a delta livery.Just an idea.
