My FSX disc 2 is broken, I need to buy a new one, so which version shall I get?

Featured Replies

Hello,Today I decided to do a fresh install of FSX. When it was asking me to insert disc 2, I inserted it, but nothing happened. I looked at the disc if there was damage, but I couldn't almost see anything. So I tried to clean it, still no luck. There is something wrong with it. Unfortunately now, I need to buy a new one. So what I was wondering, is it worth getting FSX Deluxe for an extra 15 euros? I don't need FSX Gold nor Acceleration, because I don't care about these default planes, because I won't be flying them anyway, but FSX Deluxe sounds good to me, because it's got more detailed airport and cities. Also, is there a difference in performance between FSX Deluxe and the Default one? So is worth getting the Deluxe version? At the moment I have the default version of FSX. But the as I said, disc 2 is damaged. I tried downloading one from the web (illegally), I mounted it with Deamontools, but it didn't work properly, probably it was from another version of FSX. Anyone knows where I can download FSX Default disc 2? And no this is not illegal because I actually bought the game and have an activation key. Thanks in advance,

Yes it actually would be illegal, because you would be downloading data from a source that is not authorised to distribute it, so effectively you will be handling stolen goods; the fact that you have some similar goods that are not stolen is irrelevant from a legal standpoint. Al

Not only that, but BT relies on swarms. You would also be sending the files to other unlicensed persons. That's generally where they get you. FBI isn't seizing your PC if you illegally download 2 or 3 files, but if in the process you also distribute those 2 or 3 files illegally to hundreds of others, that's just bad mojo. I know it's for xbox, but check the following link. They may have a similar program for windows games.http://support.xbox.com/en-us/xbox-360/troubleshoot/games/disc-replacement-program

I had the same problem, I lost my disc 2. didn't want to by a new game, so I downloaded the game from a torrent site. Anyway, FSX is very cheap nowdays. but I think that 15€ extra for the deluxe version is too much. I Checked prices at my local store, standard costs 12€ and deluxe 17€.

And I think the Deluxe version has the SDK. Maybe there comes a time where you want to create your own stuff, then you need the SDK.

I`m sure I read where MS sent out a replacement for a small charge. But its also possible to copy disk 2 to the PC and use it from there. Some people had to do that because theirs long been problems with the disk 2 for some people. Here`s a stickied post in a flight sim forum, dedicated to the problem with the Disk2 and how to get around it; http://www.flightsimworld.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=107244 Steve
