Na hopefully not Chris, friend of mine has a similar spec and it runs spot on. Definitely won't be bored on these dark, winter nights now!

I was in the same boat as you to be fair, didn't know exactly what to go for, just did a hell of a lot of research into it on this site. I also went on youtube and watched countless vids to see what specs they were all running. My rig has cost me just over a thousand pounds and (fingers crossed) should be pretty much bang on. If it isn't then i'm going to go mad and take up knitting or something!

JonnyGR4's list is fine. To save a little money you can sub a GTX570 for the 580. And get a i5 2500k instead of the 2600k. Also just get a decent air cooler or a corsair closed loop "water" cooler like the H60 etc. For building tips, just youtube it hehe

Yeah I figured you have thats why I ask people like you who have already done the research or already own a perfect build. Is the cooling stuff u got because the i7 2600 Ghz is high which creates a ton of heat? The i7 2600 I am looking at is 3.6 Ghz or close to that. Is that the one u got originallly and overclocked it (if thats the right term) or are there i7 with the higher Ghz I just havnt seen? Where did u buy your components from? Hey definately keep me posted as to how fsx runs on it and Ill probably hit u with another question or two in the near future, I wil be ordering in the next 4-6 weeks. Peace!!!

that vid of the pc build link is nice indeed. This is the first setup Ive come up with tell me what u would change, remember this is for FSX only and maybe an RPG or 2 so Its not Crysis or any crazy 3D stuff Ill be using it for.. i7 2600K (3.40GHz) 8GB DDR3 2 TB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 1.2GB also comes with Win7 mouse/keyboard and its already built because I have no clue how to install all the wires and stuff myself. Its 1500 dollars. I would probably add a SSD to it for FSX but anything else? Thanks for taking the time to help man I really appreciate it...Peace!!

I bought mine from a small company who specialise in high end gaming systems, especially Sandybridge systems. All components were from there and they recommended the watercooler, although a decent fan would've been fine. Picking it up tomorrow evening so I'll keep you posted once I have FSX installed and set up!

If it's mainly for FSX I'd go with a i5 2500k. The 100 dollar difference isn't worth it to me. You could put the gained $100 towards an SSD. I doubt you'd notice any difference between an i5 and i7 at say 4GHz. For the motherboard just get a Z68-based one, example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128512 Don't forget a solid power supply, such as this one:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151087ORhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139015 And if you need help with something specific, there's plenty of guys on the forum to help.

now that motherboard u linked for me is ok with i5 or i7, and the "k" behind the 25 or 2600 number means it can be overclocked? I noticd the power supplys were 700 and 850 is that 700W for i5 850W for i7? And the cases all come with fans in them but I will want to get a supersized fan to put directly over the cpu because overclocking causes heat and heat kills cpus? Im starting to grasp this PC stuff a bit from reading and u guys on here. I think Ill save some money on the cd drive if possible. The cd drive is only used to put win7 on the computer and to load the games onto it correct, so If I watch no movies or dont care about bluray can I get just the lowest most basic cd drive or will that have an effect on gaming somehow? Thanks

I wouldn't waste money on the following...... SSDSLI/CrossFire The SSD may well load the OS quicker, but.....let's face it.....how many times have you been sat at your desk twiddling your thumbs in boredom during the 30-60 seconds it takes to get to the desktop? You would be better off using the extra cash to purchase a better graphics card. A single card, that is. SLI/CrossFire is (IMO) completely unnecessary.

I was wondering about that fact of the ssd. It has nothing to do with graphics/FPS, or gameplay correct? the only thing game related is that an ssd will initially load the game faster right? If thats the case I can shave 200 bucks off my build. Can anyone tell me if this component list is compatable togather and would it run FSX smooth at high settings, please make suggestions or opinions with me because this is my first build(obviously) and I know very little about this stuff. Yeah that's fine... I'd probably just go with DDR3 1600 mhz ram with lower latency, such as: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226201 7-8-7-24 I honestly don't believe it makes a practical difference. You could probably put those sticks against your proposed sticks and yours might win a few benchmarks but these would win some too. In FSX I'd wager that you couldn't tell a difference from the naked eye. The power supply is adequate - since you're4 building a top of the line system I'd look at a Corsair AX 750/850series or Seasonic X750/X850. The TX v2 is plenty strong however.

Great man yeah thats why im asking here because Im so confused when Im trying to choose certain things like the mobo and ram. Is 8GB (4GB x 2) DDR3 1333 a solid choice for ram with my setup and needs? since fsx came out a while ago, relatively speaking, would it be considered a less demanding game that a current high performance gaming pc should handle smooth at max settings? I dont use scenery addons or anything and the only planes I use that arent default is f1 mustang, captainsim 757 and pmdg 737/747. This PC should have no problem with that you know. As far as screens go, whats the thing to look for in a gaming screen? Is it the M# or whatever, I read M8 or above is ideal for gaming and the 1080 as well right? Could you link a few suggestions for a good gaming screen from newegg, like 250-300 dollar range u think would be sick for fsx? Thanks bro..Peace!!
